Lee Lady appears to be riding a Schwinn New World lightweight.

Schwinn lightweight brakes located on the handlebars.
Most of my riders are rear coaster brakes.

I’ve only had one bike with hand-brakes.
A 3-speed by Raleigh,

First time, I tested the highest speed to
see how fast I could go.
Coming to an intersection with traffic,
I panic and sqeezed hard on the hand
brakes,
Bike stopped.
I didn’t!

I went back to riding only coaster brake bikes ever since!

Growing up in this time period, I never paid much attention to these cars ...

My uncle drove a woodie station wagon like the one by the Texaco sign.

First pic: love the grey color of that car

Second pic: everything in wonderful - love the cars you pointed out - but also that cool "Tudor" style (what I'm guessing is a) apartment house peaking out in the left background.

⇧ What do we think, restaurant of some sort on the roof or just a place to hang out? The lack of visible signage and the sparse seating leads me to believe the later.

This is exactly how I remember Christmas looking and feeling when I was a kid. I'm not sure if the world has changed, or I have.

Feel better, @Ghostsoldier. Sorry to hear of your malady.
Bedford Falls, ca. 1948?

This is how I imagined Christmas looking and feeling when I was a kid. I keep thinking it used to get cold earlier down here in Da Swamp in those days, but it might have been that I was cold because I was a kid. Nowadays we're likely to still be wiping sweat off our faces in November and mid-December around here. So it's hard to get into the spirit of things (though I try) when the reindeer are suffering from heat prostration.

The prices are in line with, say, 1970? And the hair of the kid in the foreground, and his pants, bear that out. But the one car we can clearly see is a much older vehicle. However, the car mostly hidden by the post looks to be a compact of some kind, and we were starting to see those on the roads by '70. This could be a Renault Dauphine or an early Toyota.

Our mystery '59 Plymouth again...

Rob

And the dashboard / interior of our mystery car - just as wild as the exterior styling. Pushbutton transmission, dashboard mounted "day-night" review mirror and a whole lot of "stylin'." Not 100% sure this is the exact interior, but it's close from what my web research showed.
