Wow, this thread was about to slip off the front page. Can't have that now, can we?
Here we have the Akubra Capricorn, arrived two days ago from Oz. It's a polypropylene "straw" hat, I bought it as the "nearest to sweat proof" Fedora style I could find. I didn't expect to like it. I was wrong, I do. It's comfortable, good looking, and I can wear it without fear of heavy sweating in high heat, or even rain storms. Worst damage I could see is potentially having to replace the band if it gets badly sweat stained (I doubt it). I really like the bound edge.
I presume this means the body was manufactured elsewhere (Asia I'd imagine). No worries, wasn't like I was concerned whether or not it came from Ecuador .
This is in Fawn color, which was in stock at Everything Australian (the only of 4 colors without a 3 month wait there), and the price was $7 Aus. less than Hats Direct (who list 2 colors, not sure what is in stock).
The above pics were taken without flash. Below is one with. The real color is about midway between the two IMO, I'll try to get some better natural light shots soon.
