Here's one that I'm just now getting around to finishing up. It was a Resistol Stagecoach that had some serious brim issues. I could only save 2 1/4 inches of the brim, and I hate stingy brims, let alone it being a black hat, which I also hate! So, I wasn't in a hurry to do anything with it. I was bored yesterday and I got around to getting it nearly completed, save for the ribbon. Here's the stingy brimmed bugger and my ribbon choice, grey 1 inch mid ribbon. I also gave the crown a nice deep Tear Drop crease with a high tight pinch....

It came out nice. It's just that I don't like black hats or stingy brims.

It does look good, though. Maybe you can find a buyer or a gift-ee? You do great work!

I'm talking Fedoras, not Westerns. On my fedoras I want my brims no wider than 2 3/4 and no less than 2 5/8. On Westerns, I really don't like anything over 4' and no less than 3' on brims, depending on what look I'm after. Too much brim looks like a bird bath sitting on top of one's head.

Here's a loungers favorite and well worn Stetson I recently resurrected for him. He wanted me to save the liner inset and incorporate that into a new silk liner. Also gave it a deep cleaning in a gas bath and replaced the sweat with a vented one. All the holes in front of the hat are for pins which he will reattach. IMG_6927.JPG IMG_6976.JPG IMG_6980.JPG

Also updated this Stetson that I posted a couple weeks ago by adding the brim binding. Feels finished now. IMG_6988.JPG

Here's my first conversion from a Stagecoach to fedora. Please don't tell Joao I stingy brimmed a Stagecoach. It is now only a 2 3/8th inch brim. And hats off to @Tjones who started me down this road about a year ago. Finally got the right tools.

1950s Borsalino wide brim restoration. This one was as close to being worn out as it gets. Had a cattlemans crease and was wearing thin at the front pinch so I added a piece of silk inside crown at front and rear where it had a deep crease previously. The hat had been serviced at some point in its life as the original sweat was long gone and someone had glued the liner in place and must of used a paint brush cause there's a trail of glue through out the interior. Measured out at a 7 1/8 but since it had a 6" crown and a 3" brim I managed to bump it up to fit to 7 1/2 and still maintained the ht and brim to 2 7/8.
The worse part for me was losing the silk ribbon which deteriorated badly, fortunately I had one piece of ribbon in 3/8 in a similar color and just had enough to duplicate the same style while covering up the severe fade underneath the old ribbon . I really like this color felt and style and am pleased that it all came together to save this one.
    Hope you all like it as much as I do IMG_7037.JPG IMG_7044.JPG IMG_7041.JPG IMG_7058.JPG IMG_7065.JPG IMG_7063.JPG IMG_7079.JPG
