Vintage Hoover 700

I only see the one 700 by the seller isoldit.

The badge could never be restored and the vacuum in general is a
wreck.

I have an orange badge from a 700 or 725. One clip is missing.
Keep it in mind if you should need one.

The 63 Hoover is in fantastic condition! That one I would really consider.
The seller is an extremely reputable and knowledgeable expert on Hoovers.
He restores them like new machines.

I always liked the 63s.

If you mean the Hoover 700 on eBay, 50.00 is outrageous!
And truly that machine is pure garbage. Good maybe for parts but I wouldn't
try to restore it. It's too far gone.

I think the feel if they don't get what they want in the auction,
they'll make it up in shipping.

I have sent out over 15 machines in the past 5 years and only once did
I ask 35.00 because the tools were seperate. And the packing is usually terrible! The handle should always be packed and shipped seperately.

My feedback on shipping and packaging is 100% positive.

I don't know, I feel it would clean up nice... with a little work it would come out ok... I have a NOS badge for the thing... but, you can always re-paint them I think.

$60 bucks is crazy for shipping... should come in a gold box if you ask me!

I know you would like that 700 and if you're great with refurbishing then why not.

The shipping is very expensive depending upon your location and it's so important to have a good badge on these Hoovers. Can't tell if it would clean properly.

Where's that beautiful 700 you have? I'd wait for another.

You haven't seen my 700 yet? Here's a few shots.

This is my gal and I posing with the 700. The dusting tools box has the tools in it. I also photoshopped the proper bag on it... that was before I found the original on ebay.

Here's the three main cleaners I own, the Packard, the 700 and the 575. Note the original bag on the 700 and a total orange badge with no black trim.

Ummm, I did post a photo of a 700 standing by my 1935 Philco a while back... I looked at page 4 and didn't see any model 700 photos.

The photos I reposted were taken in my livingroom... My gal and I collect 20s to 40s vintage clothes and home furnishings... I've been collecting this stuff for nearly 20 years. I was born too late. lol

I took a photo of my lady with the vacuum and made it look like an old Hoover ad... I think you may hve seen it. By the way, where could I get proper black rubber bumpers for these machines?

Yep, that's me and my lady. Our home is 20s-30s period with some 40s stuff hangin' around. I collect just about everything from that era... We use old Western Electric telephones, our sofa is from 1927, the radios I own are all 20s-40s and even my car is a '46 Plymouth four door. And even the clothes we own are original. Ashley's dress in that photo is about 1927 or so, black silk.

We're crazy for the past, music, furniture, cars, radios, phones, fans, appliances and Hoovers! lol

Over the weekend, a good friend of mine from Kansas is in town and he happened to find a model 700 Hoover "Special" at an antique shop. He showed me some photos of it and it was really complete also, it's an earlier rebuild. It has the scissor bag spreader that I'm lacking and it had a cloth covered power cord and button plug. The badge is black and silver... with the fancy script work at the sides... I could be wrong but, I'm thinking it was rebuilt in the early 30s since the scissor bag spreader part was dropped by '31 I believe.

It works, it's a beautiful machine, he bought it for $50. and brought it over... we polished up and looks really nice! I'll have to take a few photos of it to share here... I'm sure most of you all will enjoy it, it's lovely.

Just for info, the cotton braided power cable is still readily available, at least here in the UK.

It's sold as 'Iron flex' or 'non-kink' cable, intended for use with electric irons.

Search 'non kink iron flex' on Google and you should find a few suppliers.

Oh, it's not my machine, my friend bought it... He asked me if $50. is a good price... I told him that there are some sellers on ebay who want to charge $50. just to ship the darn machine! lol

He's really happy with it so far and is looking forward to putting it to work once he sends it home.

Wow! A beautiful 700 special! It's in unusually good condition.
You don't find that model in such pristene shape.
It was obviously well taken care of.
Wish I had it too.
