I should have taken a picture before my first sip as it looked prettier, but for the first true cold Fall day, we are having eggnog with Courvoisier, whip cream and nutmeg.

It might not be the manliest thing I've had, but to heck with that, this is one tasty drink for a Fall Sunday.

How was the Powder River?

I must have been watching tv at the same time I was typing. The right name is Black Powder bourbon, it's a "value" spirit, lighter than I'd prefer a bourbon. Works fine for a closing out an evening with your feet up.

And it really was. It could turn out to the be the go-to, fun Holiday Season drink this year. I'll have a serious drink of choice and I'll have wine during the Holidays, but a fun drink - a Hot Toddy, an Irish Coffee, etc. - has to be in the mix as well and this eggnog-Courvoisier (not an easy word to spell) drink might fit the bill this year.

They go well with a meal; especially tacos.

A storm rolled in, room got dark, we pulled the shade way up and watched the storm move on through with an eggnog with Courvoisier, whip cream and nutmeg in hand - all in all, a nice late Fall afternoon.

Excellent! I really like Glenfarclas. The 15 is great! The 12 is slightly overpriced vs it's competition at that price point (Aberlour 12) IMO. I do buy the 12 ahead when it's on sale.

Just brought home a growler of Broad Axe oatmeal stout from Granite City. My Halloween treat!
