Halloween Haul

Went out to a couple of places today. Found this Malrov box and 2 hats. A grey Portis homburg and a Green/brown Marathon. I'll add more pics in their respective threads.

Buler, I hate to ask this because I believe I'll be jealous of the answer, but can I ask how much you picked up the Marathon for? It looks to be in great condition, and I'm guessing you found it at some flea market for a song. It's just not possible for this type of hat find where I live.

I wouldn't want to make you jealous. Lets just say it was a "good" price.

Some of the best felt I own is Royal Stetson Deluxe. This hat appears to be very nice as well. Looks like a keeper!
Thanks Chinaski! I am barely starting to buy vintage fedoras and now I understand the big difference on how these old hats feel, and also I like how you can crease the crowns. I have a Stetson Nostalgia and it doesn't compare to these vintage hats.

Vintage 70's Royal Stetson?

I got this one off ebay and the person that sold it was not sure from what year it was from, but from the box I think its from the 1970's. Can someone help me out? It was like new with open crown.
2 3/4" brim. I think its very nice!

Buler: your hats look brand new. Nice.

Johnny: can't help you with the age. Is that a blue or black hat? Blue right?

Here my newly aquired Stetson Straw Whippet...

Thanks Randy! It had to have been mis-marked as a 7 1/4 because it is right on 7 3/8.

Thanks, Coble
Found it on Ebay, I think I got it about 6-8 weeks ago. I don't wear full on cowboy hats much here in NE Ohio, although I do wear Open Roads and Campdrafts. Occasionally, though, nothing but a buckaroo hat will do.

1 month delay and folded into a box no larger than the crown. Very soft and flexible but will require a professional re-flange and block to remove folds and crisp up the shape. 2-7/8" brim.

That is a very nice one. I'm liking those German market hats more and more. They're different from the American line of vintage hats. Thinner ribbon, and different approach to hatdom somehow.

Robert, I don't remember this one. Where did it come from? It should look super after the re-flange and block.
