Here is my latest beauty that I'm very pleased with indeed. It's a Peschel homburg that looks like it has hardly been worn, if at all - it's in excellent condition. There are no sweat stains whatsoever on the liner, no marks of any kind on the exterior of the hat itself. The crown is higher than my other homburg, and the liner is stitched rather than glued, so I'm wondering how old it is.

More pics in the German/Austria thread!

Great Homburg! I would say late 1950s to mid 1960s. Peschel made really high quality hats into the 1960s.

Super nice Peschelburg!
and +1 on the color of that Whippet, Rodkins. You wear it well!

Day off today, thought I'd keep myself off ebay by going for a drive a bit out of town, where there are antique shops that I don't frequent. Bad (or good?) move. I couldn't keep my hands off this pair of treasures, especially at the asking price! Both are almost flawless.

Stetson Royal Deluxe Open Road "1/8" in silver belly. It seems to have that sunset hue that the recent Akubra CD silver belly deluxe has, based on the pics you all have posted.

Resistol 3X OR clone with 2 1/4" brim... also in s. belly! I've never seen a silver belly reflect this much sage, and I'm just smitten with it.

For color comparison, here are my related hats, with the two new ones on top (Stetson, Resistol) and my BB silver belly on bottom left, Stetson 25 OR probably in fawn on bottom right.

First time I've ever seen a Vagabond with the sweat in such great condition. And I've owned 4!
Great color, too. Was that an ebay catch, Robert? Please post it in the society of vagabonds thread.

I don't buy a lot of hats. Here's one I came upon quite by accident. It's an Adventurebilt Henry, almost brand new. Beautiful hat that I am proud to wear. I've already tweaked it some more since these pictures were taken.

OK I've had a really great few days with regards to new hats. My sweetie's Teeny tiny Whippet came on Saturday, and though sadly we didn't get a chance to take sickeningly cute pictures of us out and about in our matching hats, we DID go out and about and be sickeningly cute in them!

Today I went home from work at lunch time to pick up this Knox Premier from the mailbox. This was a very lucky ebay snag. I love thecolor and feel of the felt, the reddish brown brim binding, and the shape is great.

Then later tonight I had a clandestine meeting with HeyMoe next to the railroad tracks. In the glow of the streetlight we swapped hats. He got my Chrome Champ, and I got this luscious black '30s Borsalino. The felt is so velvety, and the dark green ribbon has to be seen in person to be grokked.

Yes I've had a VERY good hat day!

Actually the "Ford Felt" hats were from an earlier run in 2006. The story goes that some guy showed up on Club Obi Wan who had a plausible story whereby he could get a hat to Harrison Ford. Thus, there was a special run of felt selected for a hat that was to be a gift to Harrison. Long story short, it never happened, but Adventurebilt got the movie deal anyway, but this predates that. From all accounts the felt is softer and of exceptional quality. But it wasn't the same run of felt as the film hats.

Thanks for clearing that up, jlee. I was told a different version but yours seems to ring true as 2006 would be way off for that wardrobe.
