My Highwayman in Heavy Steerhide has the same scuffs at some edges of the jacket. At first it bothered me, but then I figured those spots were going to be the first places to see scuffs eventually. My Aero A2 in 50mission steerhide doesn't have any scuffs, but it is a much lighter hide than the highwayman.

I have them on my Capeskin A2 as well. I'm being pretty rough with the HH models as I want them broken in really well, so scuffs, etc. are what I want.
I feel bad about your new HWM. What a bummer. I wasn't accusing you - just wondering if you might have accidentally hit the jacket when opening the box.
Years ago, I made a mistake like that and it haunts me today. So, don't think I was blaming you, just wondering if it was possible in the excitement.
Hope it turns out OK for you. What a drag...but maybe they can expedite the repair so you don't have to wait on it as long.

We have agreed with Mark that Aero makes a new jacket for me and once it's done i send the one i have right now back, so i can wear it for now
Also I am thinking of maybe asking for a one size down on the new one, i feel there is a lot of room under the arms and some room in the soulders
What do you think?

Thats a nice outcome, I hate when you have to ship something back and wait, leaving you with a hole in the wallet and nothing to use and its not even your fault!
As far as shipping and customs, yes it works different here, In Sweden you can do a "repair return" and not pay customs. In Norway they consider a repaired jacket a new jacket, a changed jacket is also a new jacket, basically they just find ways to steal your money. But its another thread and discussion, i do know of all ways it should be done, but trust me i have alot of experience with Internet shopping to and from different countries and In Norway your stuck with an insane ruleset that doesn't bend a millimeter.
And just to clarify, Aero hasn't charged me shipping for something that has been their fault, on the contrary on my last purchase (Ironheart jeans) they even charged me less then standard so they are all good.

It looked good to me, but it's up to you. How about wearing more than a slim shirt under? Did you try with a sweater? Only you can say, but from here, it looks nice.

To me, If you plan on other, heavier undershirt, it's good. If you're only wearing T-shirts, then maybe you could drop down a bit.

Sounds like a decent outcome.
I agree...since it must be remade...one size down sounds better to me. I think the size you have would have been alright..but I think that you do have a little extra bulk in that jacket.

Here's an old pic of mine and how it fits. I got it from Aero's sale page. My size..with longer sleeves. If I would have had it made for me..I would have added extra body length as well. I'm 6'2"

I agree that it looks like its a liiiiiittle big, just a little, but you have to feel if you think a size down could work.
Mine is snugger then yours but I cannot wear anything other then a t-shirt under, not comfortably anyway.

Hi Borisna, beautiful jacket, thats a shame about the cut. I think if it was my jacket, the scuffs wouldnt be an issue, but the cut would be a problem. Im glad to hear that Mark and Aero are making it right. I would say that if you are getting a new one made, go down one size, but make sure to keep the lengths of the body and sleeves as they look just right to my eye.

Borisna. I'm glad you finally got your jacket. I'm about a month behind you, so I'm expecting one soon. While I could personally deal with the presser foot scuffs, the slice is a different matter. I have a hard time believing no one at the factory noticed it. If someone did notice it and let it leave that way, Aero has some housecleaning to do.

Also i planned on wearing the jacket mostly over a shirt or a thin sweater, so i want it snug

We are about the same size and I went with a 38 in a slim half-belt.
I certainly would consider a 38 if you like a snugger fit.

Check those shoulders and make sure the seam is right at the edge...if not then go slighltly smaller....to me (least expert here) it looks like it fits past your shoulders and makes the sleeves look ever so slightly long.

I am 40" chest and my Highwayman is a standard 40". When it was new out the box I thought it was too big, but after the break in it drapes and creases and softens. It is now a perfect fit with a sweater. As you might want to wear your jacket in the cooler weather (heavy horse is not good in the summer) having room for a sweater might be a good idea. Just a thought.

I guess I'm in the minority here - I like some wiggle room in my jackets. With the exception of riding jackets, I don't want something tight on me.

Minority of two... Too big is too big, but tight is not what I need, either. My two favorite jackets are a 43 (they can do it at Aero) Stuart, and a 60 years old G-1, originally I guess 46, but perfect for me. Both extremely comfortable. My Highwayman is a 25 year old steerhide one, marked as 44, also very comfortable on me. None are snug, none are oversized. Took a bit of time to get there, though.
