I don't think that hat is actually a penneys marathon, just it's in the box of one. Ribbon looks cheap- wool felt maybe?

Actually it looks frighteningly similar to one I saw in an antique shop the other day-- same raw edge and thin ribbon, which was literally stapled on to the costume quality wool felt. I'd be wary, that's all.

I've always wanted to see how well these work. The idea seems sound. I've more than a few needing a stretch & have high hopes.

Same here, Sam. I took it to $50 including the listed shipping charge. Never thought it'd go north of $200 let alone almost $300!

I'm guessing with all that brim a cowboy bid on it and they're not shy about spending peso on lids. The price of some of those custom cowboy hats floors me. As they say, it only takes two for an auction.

The double brim binding looked interesting but there really wasn't a good picture of it. I hope if the winner is a Lounger they post some better pictures of it.

First binding with a wider binding ribbon, then binding over it with a thinner binding ribbon.

Very interesting.
