Here's a pair of 1940's dropped loop pants. Also deadstock. These have the lowest belt loops I've ever seen on original pants. I put a belt on them in the second pic to show how severe the waist is. I love these!
Now here's a pair of 1950's "Rock and Roll" pants by Campus. Japanese dealers would give me $800 for these...IF I were willing to sell them!

Incotex Italian Linen: name for waist treatment?
Not vintage, I know, but definitely a classic look. I picked up three different colors of these Incotex trousers in Italian linen and one in cotton chino for resale but am stumped on how to describe the waist. There's a waistband in the front but not in the back, is there a particular name for this style? Honestly, I am so impressed with the construction and styling of these trousers. (My apologies if this query is in the wrong thread. I tried to find an "Ask a question" thread in this category but couldn't locate one.)

They lace up in back.
Unfinished hems, big bell bottoms. Very heavy twill fabric, I'm assuming wool. No tags other than the paper size tag still attached to the waist.

Sailor trousers. Military collectors would know how to date them. I can't help you with that. But I believe that the lacing part makes them a bit earlier.
these are cotton 30-40s U.S. work trousers. nothing fancy, just a cheap trouser, but great fabric:
(i took this photo in 2007 but didn't post it at the time. they are still going strong).

Finding heavy cotton with good stripes is really difficult though. Unless you get it made which makes the price go up.

I am not sure if this is the proper thread as I do not post a lot. I thought I would share picture of my new trousers. They are not vintage but the style is in keeping.
I am teaching English here in Vietnam and had some trousers made at a local tailor. I showed him a picture and in a week he made me two pairs of trousers. One in grey, pictured and another in a speckled brown material, pics to come.
The cost was $35 USD per pair. What do you think?
