Sorry guys it was late when I posted thanks for the corrections, the ******* is definitely 50's.

I thought the Stetsonian might have had a small chance at being late 30's just because the liner material and sweat font are both the same as the late 30's blue heather.

Same! I picked up a mid-30s Stetsonian with a narrow brim, and it's just made me even hungrier for a wide-brim vintage Stetsonian.

Saw this Whippet offered with no BIN and a starting bid of $49.99; when I messaged the person to see if they had a BIN in mind, they said they'd just sold it at $225. Can't figure out if that was a good deal or not.

Agreed. I would expand it to most anything Stetson. Nothing wrong with true Stetsons but there are so many hatmakers whose hats were just as good. Nice not to have to pay a premium because of a label the public can't even see.

Hi Alex. As a new poster, you may not be aware of the "no posting live auctions" practice around here. You increase your competition by calling attention to the auction. I would have PM'd you, but that isn't possible until you have 15 posts.

Not that I'm a Resistol expert, by any means, but I hadn't remembered seeing that liner logo previously. It could be late 40s, but 50s is more likely.

I'll post it when I get it. I really had my eye on the Knox Tom and Jerry, and just threw a bid over the transom for the ******* as a lark. Imagine my surprise when I caught the car I was chasing!

That's only happened to me maybe once before. I was just finishing making dinner last night, there was under 1 minute left and it was still under $40. So I tossed in a bid of $46.50 just for the heck of it, thinking it would top out closer to a C-note in the last seconds.

Wife: Isn't dinner about ready? I'm hungry.
Me: Just a sec - I want to watch this hat expire.
<pause for 30 seconds>
Me: Well, ****!
Wife: Has it sold?
Me: I apparently just bought it?
Wife: What?
Me: I was sure it would go for over $100. Well, looks like I have a Stetson *******!

I was also watching a Whippet yesterday afternoon (instead of working on my project report - sort of like right now) that was pristine, with a box, and starting at $95. The drawbacks were it was one size too small (7 1/8), and it had no sweat. The rest looked like it was brand new. I kept telling myself, "If nobody bids, I can take that thing down to Batsakes for a reblock and new sweat!" Somebody finally hit it around 5 minutes to expire, and it ultimately went for ~$120. Somebody got a nice Whippet that needs minimal work.

I threw a late bid on the T&J at around 40 sec.... and it truly was all I was willing to pay for it ... needless to say I was outbid
