Just won this Stetson Medalist. I don't know what it's made of. Alan says he thinks it might be a coated natural fabric treated with rain-resistant resin, or something.
Does anyone have an opinion?
I bought it because I have never seen something like it. The seller didn't seem to know either.

I have no idea what the material is, but it sure looks nice. If Alan doesn’t know....

Thanks again, Bob. Now that I know it's a synthetic I am a little disappointed.

It looks like a fine hat to me regardless of what it’s made from. It certainly looks a lot nicer than my recent production polypropylene hats. Think of it as a nice vintage summer hat that you can use hard and even wear in the rain. I think such a hat would fit into anyone’s collection.
