That is a super hat! Show us more! What are the leather and liner like?

Here is the post from when I got it. Here's a pic of the liner.

My favorite thing about it is that it was originally purchased in Walla Walla. Ya gotta love that.

The new ribbon (it was that one, right?) is an improvement, Brent. Very nice.

Thanks, Stefan. Art replaced the ribbon...and chastised me for buying cheaply made hats. :) Art had a point. The cost of the hat, the cost of the repairs by Art, and the extra shipping put the hat at or above the price of a custom rabbit fur felt hat by Art, Gannon, Phoenix, etc.

I always enjoy seeing that Champ, Michael. I sometimes have trouble finding mushrooms in a supermarket, let alone in a forest!
Thanks Stefan. There were lots of mushrooms found yesterday, but then there were around 30 people looking. My landlord and I were the only ones to score in the hen category.

Two hat day.

I'll support Bowen's plea for more Borsalinos.
Borsalino Martora (many thanks to @Dotneck who was willing to trade it with me.)

Both very nice. Love the Borsalino liners. Too cool.

I scored a new pair of old tropical weight wool Army pants today at my favorite vintage store. So I had to try them out with a different hat.

Stunning Borsalino Stefan!
A rarely seen Martora felt.
How do you find the Marten felt to compare with their Nutria and/or their usual blend felt??
B
I'd have to put them side by side to compare them, Bowen. Haven't done that yet. But at first glance I'd say there's very little between them. The hand is much the same (and outstanding). The nutrias feel a bit denser than the rabbits and this sits somewhere in between. Could I tell them apart with my eyes closed? Probably not, which is a testament to the skill of the Borsalino workers. I guess these are rare because it would probably take quite a few martens to produce some felt. Too labour intensive most likely.

Lesson learned, but you learn best by experience;)

Thanks, Michael. Now if you could only score a few more of these Marathons...

Today....it seems not so many Borsalinos have been around lately.
So...here is a lovely example of fine Italian craftsmanship. The felt is very thin, dense and airy light that conforms to whatever your imagination is, as is only Borsalino. Finely finished detail, their hallmark, does not disappoint.
Be well. Bowen
Thank you, Bowen. Excellent Chapeaux. I suspect you would describe that equally excellent jacket in opposite terms.

I do understand the sentiment, H&R. These things can be a drag. My wide decided today that enough is enough and we need to clear out a ton of clutter (including hats!). She has been very understanding, but she is also right of course. I decided not to tell her yet about the ones that are still coming in...;)
Great minds think alike.
