Ludwig Skrivanek Graz, Hutfabrikation, no paper label, measures 58 cm, Wool or Wool - Fur, possibly early to 1930s. I had no idea from the photos that the felt was a melange of colors. Also that it had an intact wind cord. I do not have any information on the production capabilities of Ludwig Skrivanek Graz Hutfabrikation. Anton and Josef Pichler were the famous Graz Hat companies but I was very happy to find this less known company. I have to say this Stiff Felt is already one of my favorites.

Super find, Steve. Great shape to it. The liner looks pristine. Congrats.

So I removed the hat band on the Revenger so I could figure out a new one for it, and there's so much hot glue on the thing I'm not sure I can remove it. I was wanting to put a thinner one on.

Steam can get off the residue USUALLY. Sometimes you will need a solvent like rubbing alcohol to break it down. Use the rubbing alcohol SPARINGLY, AND test the felt first. It CAN in some cases remove the dye as well.

Perhaps Isopropyl Alcohol would act as a solvent for the glue? Otherwise, maybe a hair dryer to loosen it up; perhaps some sandpaper.

Thanks guys. I'll try both suggestions tonight and see how it goes.

I guess this is a good one to experiment on since it was only $14.
I might even try a Naphtha Bath on it, as it does have a few spots on it that didn't come off with my usual cleaning.

Mayser "Spezial", 61 cm, possibly early 1950s. The dark blue felt is fantastic (color, finish) and easily dry creases. As usual great dressing work (ribbon/bow, sweatband, liner) It's also in NOS condition so probably rarely if ever worn.

Great find, Steve. Both Mayser and Wegener had gorgeous blue coloured hats in their line up. I need to find one of those for Brent.

Very cool find, Steve. Nice to be surprised that way. I like the look of the felt on this one. Not your average black.

Three new hats and a surprise from Brent arrived yesterday via Stefan.

Here's the first, a Huber Velvet. A very soft, smooth, grey/blue felt, cool ribbon treatment, and wonderful teardrop bash. Really pleased with this one.

Have a great weekend, guys.

Glad you like it, Steve, and good to see it in action. We need to see it in some sunshine to fully appreciate it.
