What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Well, I guess I know what hat I won't be wearing today...... had just steamed and shaped it. Left in on the upstairs gameroom table then went to watch a movie in the theater room. Came out to find pup pup with a mouthful of straw. <sigh> the look on my face scared the crap out of her and she took off running, smart. I needed a few minutes to regain my composure . Guess I have a new Jed Clampet hat.

Oh no! It's funny how they can't resist tearing up a special hat or a shoe. But they know they messed up the second they see you. It's kind of like when we just have to buy another hat... And then the wife sees the box arrive on the doorstep.

Moth to a flame.

Took a walk across the creek for the first time in a couple of months. Lots of downed trees piled up from the last three years of floods so it can be a bit of work. Here are a couple of beaters wearing a couple of beaters. Mine is the 7XCB with racing stripe and lumps, my wife's is her vintage Resistol with lots of "character".

I did find the lawn chair that I didn't put high enough on the creek bank late this summer when leaving the swimming hole (about 3/4 of a mile upstream).

And a rock with a hole in it ... in my mind that makes up for the chair.

Happened yesterday and laughing today. Got it for $25 on ebay. Another $100 to have Art reshape and put on a new ribbon. Worth&Worth Montichristi probably originally sold for close to a grand. ??? Was not a favorite, but still.

Great looking cap, Dale. Hope the fish were biting.

Thanks, Michael. This is usually a good time of year for crappie at this lake, but this year it's been not so much. I've been 3 of the last 4 weekends with no luck, and met no one else having any either. I did hook a big channel cat a few weeks back, but nothing today. This spot' s only about 6 miles from my house, so fish or no fish it's still a nice spot to get away to easily.

lol, upstairs has a theater room, game room (where I work on my hats) an exercise room, and 2 bedrooms . Downstairs is the main living kitchen and dining area and master. Wife wanted someplace all the family can come to for the holidays. Everything is bigger in Texas. ;)

My wife is from MO and we moved back, for good, a few months back. Can't beat the views, even with the floods.
