Dog soiree in a Cordova Cap this morning.

Late breakfast outside found me wearing a Portis unlined fedora.

I completed a couple yard chores in an Adams fedora.

An afternoon walk in snow flurries had me glad I was wearing a bigger brimmed Gannon (charcoal beaver).

Cool Champ Tim. Cav edge on that one?

I have a stingy Champ I haven’t gotten around to yet.... it was one of the three from the coffee carton. LOL. Should definitely make it one of the 30.

No, just an overwelt. I don't know if Champ did the Cavanagh Edge since they were a bargain brand. This one seems pretty well made and I did my brim shape on it that I have done on some of the wider brims.

That dark moss gets me every time

well dang, I guess I should have read that better. Not dark moss after all, but a gorgeous hat nonetheless. Sorry about that.

As can be seen in my avatar I've been ahead of you wearing a mask for years. Been neglecting the lounge this week, but I've seen some fabulous hats. Here's this week's harvest.

That's a keeper for sure, Joe. Suits you so well!

30 Days to 30 Hats - Day 2
Stetson Standard Quality - Silverbelly

View attachment 224549

So yesterday I started with one of my very first hats... today I will go with my newest arrival. This one showed up on my porch just today.

Stetson Standard Quality Silverbelly

7 1/4 (as tagged). - Fits like 7 to 7 1/8
Super thin light and moldable Felt
1/4 thin ribbon
2 1/4 brim with 1/8 matching bound edge
5 1/2 Open Crown (4 3/8) as bashed
1 7/8 tan sweatband. Thin. Super soft and supple.

@M Hatman suggested this may be a ‘Kingston’ model... a predecessor of the Open Road. I have no knowledge other than that but this is one impressive hat!!

I thought I was getting this to check it out and pass it on to a friend whose size it would be more appropriate. Much to my surprise after unpacking and setting atop my head it fit perfectly. I am usually 6 7/8 to 7.. my 7 1/8 hats have felt strips in the sweat so I can still wear them. I even had two 6 3/4 arrive that fit perfectly... no way this 7 1/4 was gonna fit... yet here we are. So looks like this one is going to be around longer than I planned.

Good to see you looking well, my friend.

A Resolut Homburg today.
In these worrying times, it's a joy to see all the wonderful hats you folks are so generous in sharing.

Stay safe and well, my FL friends.

A rare sunny day and a walk along the coast to the beach wearing a hemp Stratoliner. Harder to stay away from people today, lots of folks out walking who normally don't, and many are having trouble staying 6 feet away from each other. Still can't go swimming after surgery, but it has been pretty stormy bringing lots of nasty runoff anyway.
Peace,

Today....honoring an @40Cal sighting yesterday, i thought i would continue along that venue with another one of his hats all be it former. I’m a fortunate steward of a couple.
Present is a vintage RS Stratoliner in idk what color with a bitchin vintage Cal crosszip. Imho.
Go SoCal.
Be well and safe.

I think that Strat came from the infamous Timothy's Closet on EBay. He described the color as "bark". I had to have it but alas it just never fit me right. Looks good on ya B!

30 Days to 30 Hats - Day 3

Mallory Durafelt Cravenette Processed Premier

Charcoal Grey with 2in underwelt brim

Another of the first hats I purchased a few years back. I really like the lines of this hat and it’s sharp crease... as well as it’s neato maroon liner. At 7 1/8 this hat used to fit better when I was 70lbs heavier. Now a few felt strips behind the sweat keep it in service.
