What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

And thanks STILL again Mark!!! and also dang it... just the same. If ever I have an inkling of thinking I have one I may want to move along end up falling in love with it. LOL.

Just like those old cat ladies... I’ll end up an old hat guy.... at least I don’t have to feed them... but they do seem to reproduce

Yes....we are many of us here.......just like you!:rolleyes:;):):D:p

Hope everyone is safe and well. Today is one of my most recently acquired hats. Not the most special piece but a great hat for daily wear that doesn’t have to be babied. Stetson 3X 3x6 with a single cord ribbon. Also grabbed a photo of my spalted maple bolo I made last week.

Great hat and bolo Justin. Nice work!

However ... :D:D

Haha, Thanks Bob. I actually made and sold a round of bolos at a yearly art show that I usually participate in showcasing some of my furniture pieces. The larger pieces rarely sell but having something on hand you can sell for under $50 always does well and covers the cost of participating in the show. Millennials often wear them as a necklace, which I do from time to time as well but if I'm wearing a collared shirt it's getting snugged up and worn proper!

Stefan, Thank you! I am a big time Felt Hat fan! :) Fantastic looking Borsalino "Misto Salvia" from you today!
Thanks, Steve.

There's some truly fine hatmaking on display there, Max.

Thanks Stefan. I was my find of the year for sure.

Very nice. Send some rain and cool weather this way if you have any extra.

Thanks,
Michael
Thanks, Michael. We've had some very dry weather here as well. July has started off a bit more rainy though. Nothing to spare; sorry!

I'll have a limited wardrobe for the next four weeks as we hang out in Santa Barbara waiting to meet our first grandchild. He's due to arrive mid-month. Brought a couple of Lo Bues, a beret, my trusty Stetson Balibuntal and my beautiful partner of 48 years. Hope you are well and staying out of trouble... will check in from time to time.

Something cool to look forward to, Alan. We'll be expecting a proud grandfather showing off soon.

Wore this new arrival for a bit today after getting it cleaned up

Clasico Sevillano
3 1/2 flat top crown
1 inch grosgrain ribbon
3 inch brim with 1/4 Matching grosgrain binding

This black Clasico Sevillano sombrero originally sold at Goyescas Pueblo Espanol... I believe a shop at an open air market in Barcelona, Spain came to me in a group Of three other hats. It caught me eye as definitely something different. In person this is a very well made hat. The felt is very stiff as I imagine is the intention to keep its squared shape crown and wide snap brim. But it also has a nice hand to it. The sweatband is thick... but rather stiff.. so I did not do any digging underneath.

All and all a different kind of look.. definitely not my preferred style and a bit out of my comfort zone. But a very nice And well made hat.
They have a cool look (but I would say that, wouldn't I?), but they aren't usually top of the line hats. The brim is supposed to be completely flat, but that is hard to achieve if the crown isn't an exact fit. I think Max got it right when he commissioned one for him specifically.

I wore the VS Cuenca with a new crisp coat of shellac into town for a trip to the pharmacy and a quick healthy snack of Spam Musubi. I wonder what is used to stiffen new Panama hats.

Seems to have done wonders for the hat. Cool pics as usual, David.

Beautiful hat, Michael.

Lovely hat, Perry. Ticks the boxes.

Venturing back into the office in a Texas Hatters "Half-Breed". Lord there are a lot of textures and patterns going on there...
