How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Thanks, that looks great. Hoping to hear how you like the leather/construction soon. it is looking good and I hope it fits you great. When do you expect to receive the delivery?

Thank you. I'm hoping it will ship out this week....so maybe sometime next week.

Thanks. I'll post some real life photos when I get it. I hope it is as good as it looks. First time I've tried a MTO jacket :)
I think you’ll be very pleased, if the photos are any indication. TBH I expect Shawn to exceed the original in my case. The RRL stuff I’ve handled has been...not impressive to say the least. I like what I’ve seen from 5 star so far. Quite a bit.

It will most likely ship tomorrow if you are happy with the jacket/measurements. My seal brown trucker just landed in LA so I should be getting it soon.

Good luck with that project. Also eyeing that seal steer/cow, looks great on pictures and hope it's as good at hand.

My Field leathers jacket is halfway, so cool to see this jacket being made.

As an aside on RRL, have never owned any but on an RRL fan thread at another forum I love to look at what's posted. Often like the designs but it has always baffled me as to its popularity as, even among die hard fans there, there often are comments about the dubious quality of materials or construction. When you add that to the almost always exorbitant prices, makes me wonder why it gets die hard repeat customers.

I've owned a few. Usually, the construction is good. Buttons and hardware are quality. The stitching on this rrl jacket was more precise than the stitching on my Eastmans:

However, the leather used is often times underwhelming (the above jacket which was of considerable weight was an exception). Also, they're very much overpriced.

But the people who buy these don't care about value for money. They just like the rrl style, want something fashionable and want something they can buy off the rack. Moreover they've probably never heard of makers of quality jackets like himel or freewheelers or what have you. Even if they had, they are not the type of customer to place a custom order and then wait 6 months or more before the jacket is completed.

I have two on the way, both from EBAY.
I’ve shed a stone since March, so I picked up an 1970 issued USN peacoat (Kersey wool) in a 42R. Hopefully, a good fit if dimensions are correct, but reasonably priced so it can be sold on if not.

The other one is a cheap (£40) project.
I’m really taken with Vegard’s short buttoned jacket in Swedish goatskin.

Understandably he’s attached to it so I’ve decided to buy this 1950’s belted jacket (from the same maker) and ask my local tailor to fashion a similar Cossack style jacket (with revered lapels which I prefer to the usual rounded collar).
The tails should yield the triangular side panels, waist adjusters, the sleeves will probably need to be shortened and tapered slightly to yield the cuffs. I’ll need to source a complete set of period buttons as some have been replaced.

exactly this on the picture but blackened brown Vicenza, olive cotton drill lining and olive contrast stitching.

Got it, Ive been waiting a while too for my stf BL as well. That was my first choice leather but switched to tobacco badalasi.
I should've kept with the blackened brown choice, could've prevented me from getting an black overdye from JL lol

Hope we both get our orders from aero fulfilled soon.
