Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

I do not trust the seller's measurements I have two size 44 original Buco jackets and the pit is not 21 more like 22 to 22-1/2 My Buco size 46 J-27 has a 23-1/2 Pit

100% Agreed.

Again, @Robbie79 I definitely would ask for pictures of the measurements to be sure. If it’s 23 or higher let me know...or maybe don’t. Though i am normally 46 in these bad boys.

Psst, I knew Jon was one person to go to (as I pull out my shoulder giving myself a pat in the back haha).

@JMax It's definitely a 21" pit to pit measurement, so it would fit me. The strange thing however is that it is tagged as size 44. I do have a 42" chest wearing a thin shirt. Terry meant that this one will be, despite the 21" pit to pit measurement, too big on me as it is size 44 and designed for size 44. Therefore I rather tend not to buy it.

Happy to share, I hope you get your mulholland fix soon. I'm also on the lookout for a black size 36 or a FL mulholland will be on the future order list
@Jin431 Too bad. The auction ended at approx. $1450 (plus 30% for shipping, VAT, duty would have been to expensive for me taking into account that e.g. Genco Clothing Japan can state e.g. $200 on the invoice for cost saving. If I knew that Greg is capable to make the same one for just 1000GBP with basically the same leather and similar quality as FW the decision is easy

Too bad about that but 30% on top of the auction price is a lot of money for sure. Is genco clothing a retailer in Japan? I hope so too because count me in for a blue and a black of that jacket haha

Robbie - This is a very nice package here that does appear to all be original and well kept. The grain on the jacket is awesome! It would be a great lifer jacket. That said - if you have any reservations on anything with it - do not go for it. This is a lot of money, and it's been for sale for a bit too.

Personally speaking, some of these original Buco's are indeed quite impressive to observe. This one is to me as well, however I have never been a fan of the "messanger pocket" style myself. If this were the more standard "perfecto" pocket arrangement, or a D-pocket, it may have been long gone at the asking price. "Be certain you are sure" that you want it, I guess that's what I am indicating here.

@Jin431 If you ever contact Genco, please tell Hiroyuki Watanabe-san my best wishes (Robert from Cologne in Germany) - I ordered a black Ceninela some time ago and he helped my to keep the VAT+duty as low as possible. Very nice and friendly guy! info@genco-clothing.com The same applies for mirrorball@the-rising.co.jp where I also ordered a FW leather jacket some time ago (never posted here ;)). Genco currently don't have a black size 36 Mulholland but you can ask Watanabe-san if/when he plans to replenish his FW stock: https://www.genco-clothing.com/app/...No//hidUrl//hidBuyingDisplayType/0/TokenKey//
Mirror Ball currently don't have Mulholland jackets in stock as far as I could see: http://the-rising.co.jp/?action=item_list&word=mulholland

That's the point. I already have Perfecto and D-pocket style jackets. I do prefer their styles/designs over this one but on the other hand it's a rare one in very good condition and sold as a complete package with belt and gloves. I don't really know if it'll look good on me. When seeing @JCSD 's LW version which looks awesome IMO. Fit wise the seller has provided me with more detailed dimensions (back lenght is 25.7", sleeve length 24.8", pit to pit 21") and all do seem to look OK compared to other cross zips (e.g. Aero, RMC J24) with only slight difference.
On the other hand there is the FL Mulholland style jacket at similar price range with 3-4 months waiting time. I know that's two totally different styles and topics (vintage vs new) and I know the answers of all of you already ;) Perhaps the easiest way would be to buy neither of them and to enjoy the ones I have :)

Thanks for sharing these information. I hope a pre owned size 36 will show up sometime but if I can't control myself I know where to look and I will mention your name with how I learned about them. I would imagine a size 34-36 gets sold out quite fast considering how average sized Japanese people are. So cool you got another FW on the wAy, can't wait to see what that is! Very cool

That's kind of a bannable offence here but hey, your life, your account.

Really, though, between spending a truckload of money on another leather jacket and just enjoying one you have... Going with the latter is the best thing you can do.
I’ve recently sold off 4 pairs of boots and 4 jackets. Looking to sell one more pair of boots listed here and one more jacket also listed in the classifieds here. I still keep my eye out and would buy new stuff if it’s really what I’m looking for. But I really am focusing on quality of product but also getting quality wear in to what I currently own. No point in having 15-20 jackets in a rotation. You’ll never wear them enough to justify the cost. You’ll never break them in and have them looking like a vintage jacket. It’s the best decision I’ve made since being a member here. And hey it makes my fiancé really happy there’s so much less Crap laying around ha.

No worries ;-) I'm holding my resolution. I was tempted to buy the Buco but hopefully the seller will find another buyer soon and I'm sure a Mulholland (FL or FW) can wait another year unless I have other plans next year. I've just decided that I'll stay away from TFL for a couple of weeks/months now which will make it easier for me. So, bye for now and see you probably in April again

I did ask Greg about a copy of the Mulholland without the breast pocket a few months ago. The quote was 1000.
