On the Eleventh Day of StingyMas….

Here we are on the Eleventh and final day of StingyMas… which also coincidentally (or not so coincidentally… you decide) coincides with the observance of Festivus.

I decided today to profile two beautiful hats that not only represent StingyMas.. but also in my opinion the Fedora Lounge spirit as a whole. These two hats were gifted to me by lounge friends @Rmccamey and @jlee562

The Eagle Stetson Royal De Luxe.Dark Navy Blue Dobbs TwentyI started today with a zoom call offering me a position I have been pursuing for the past month. I am very happy and excited! It’s a StingyMas/Festivus Miracle!!!

Joe that is terrific news. Congrats sir and what a gift for this Holiday season.

Thanks. It was looking a little rough with sweat stains but I gave it a good soak in cold water and left it to dry and it cone pretty clean. Got lots of life left in it.
Johnny

I am always in admiration that your hats get worn. Cheers for the VS Wall Street!

Glad it is a bit more mild. Cheers, Eric -

bought for fun for my wife (never wore it) let my Mother use it for the “Red Hat Society” now my younger two play with it from time to time. At least it gets some use.

Love that Wall Street. I think they were on the site when I got my first VS, the Good Fellow.

Congrats on your new position, I have thoroughly enjoyed the parade of stinginess. :)

Great news Joe, congrats. Love that blue as well.

Thank you so much guys… sincerely. I had a lot of fun presenting StingyMas. And I am really looking forward to starting this new position on Monday.

With StingyMas coming to an end, I want to see a six inch brim tomorrow!
Maybe not quite 6!

Thanks for continuing the Stingmas tradition. It will be December 2022 before we know it and I’m sure there will be new hats in next year’s lineup.

Congratulations on the new job. I’m sure you’ll make a smashing success of it.

No head shot yet, but I've been wearing my latest conversion. It started out as a blue Stetson Royal Deluxe St. Regis Homburg. I definitely don't wear a Homburg well, so I converted it. I had hoped to reuse the brim binding but after reflanging it to a snap brim the circumference widened and the ribbon was just too small to reuse. For now I'm leaving it raw edge until I find a ribbon for it. Couldn't reuse the original sweat either. But, I was able to reuse the original black ribbon and liner. I also glued the manufacturers label back into the hat. I took it completely apart and converted it. I'll get some head shots later. The open crown is 5 3/4 tall with a 2 5/8 snap brim. The ribbon is 1 5/8 wide.

It was a wonderful StingyMas Joe (and other participants)!

Congrats on the new job! May you glide through 2022 and for years after that. Looking forward to the next Stingymas (that I hope to be a part of).

Is it showing off, of course it is, but a set of circumstances came together this morning that I just had to share. Our friends have a gastro/pub out in the wilds, north of where we live. We had a fabulous time there last night, so much so that we went back their for our Sunday lunch.

So, show off that I am, we turned up in our vintage MG, with a couple of friends, dressed for the part.

Debbie's hubby is a tad camera shy, so although I have the shot, I won't divulge it.
But you can see me and Jessica. The hat, the suit, do I need to go any further?

Well ok, Esther made the hat, https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/esther-weis-millinery.86447/

I like the beaded band. I’ve been looking at adding one to a couple of my hats, but was concerned about the with of the original ribbon. You’ve made this overlap look really good.
Hello all,

Name's Nelson. I'm the son of a life long Fedora wearer. I grew up always wearing my father's hats and toting my toy six shooters. I finally bought my own hat recently. This is the Stetson Chatham. I don't believe they are in production anymore since they are not on the Stetson website. I bought this through Del Monico Hatters. I tried to go to the local Nashville hatter, but there was a recent publicity kurfluffle and Stetson cut ties with them. So needless to say the Fedora selection was sparce. Not a single 7 3/8.

Anyway, I've enjoyed seeing all the amazing hats showcased here.

This hat looks great on you. Beware of HAS (Hat Acquisition Syndrome). I only had one felt hat when I started here.
