I bought my first pair of engineer boots at a minimal investment to start the process of getting the right fit. These Frye 8R’s Made in USA are a good start, hopefully they are in the ballpark.

I have a pair of Frye engineers as well and they definitely run smaller than the same size in RW. Much closer to true to size.

I am a 9D on brannock- my Frye boots are size 9D. They fit me pretty good. I also have a pair of their harness boots, 9D also.

Most other brands, like Wesco for instance, I would size down a whole size to 8D. But, not Frye. Mine are older boots, I assume their sizing stayed the same.

Thanks, the rough outs are RRL. Probably the least ***iest of the group, but the rounded toe shape and roomy vamp make them a super easy on/off.

The rough out started rolling on the first wear, and of course is an indigo magnet but the RRLs have proved themselves as great workboots, along with the HH lined lofgrens.

Seconded on this, I've seen a few pairs on secondhand sites and they look beautiful

People, who own them, are full of praise.

I have a pair of the Carpenters. Very good quality.

Some Japanese shops still have some stock.

Well, yeah, in as much that they're both Harness boots but Sancho isn't made in the USA nor is it nearly as refined as those I posted.
I would guess earlier Frye or some HD model but I'd like to be sure before buying them.
