1940s Penney’s Marathon for $17.50 all in? Okay, I’ll bite.

Significant mothing and the listing claims the head opening is 20.5 inches but that’s so tiny that I reckon there’s a chance it’s wrong.

No idea what I’m getting but at this price it’s worth finding out.

Totally worth a shot. So weird how brown hats can photograph as gray.

Listings are free. So when you want to show off your hat and you don't think you're getting enough views on the WHAYWT thread ...

If one sells, then "yay!".

You know, you’re right: why the heck not? I’m gonna list all my least favorite hats at a ridiculous price. Why not?

Seriously - except the Dobbs 15 (which is in poor shape) the hats this seller is offering would be the least desirable in my collection. I would not take them if they were offered to me free.

Many years ago I listed a glass minnow trap for my wife’s Grandad with a very high reserve. We were just using eBay for a free appraisal. ;)

Then it met reserve and sold — for $2,500!

It was square and turned out to be one of only 16 known to exist.

And the guy who bought it knew the other bidders (this was the old eBay) and was able to shut them down saying it was “his turn”. He even traveled a couple of States over to pick it up.

This hat seller is not doing that since he has a fixed price. Who knows what his motivation is?

Maybe he's laundering some money. He has 35000 dollars in cash, let's say, and wants to put it into his bank account. He "sells'" five $40 hats fot $6,975, and voilá!
