It depends on what you mean by bargain. I was offered a 10% discount when I sort of frown after learning that there is no tax refund at a shop (could that be counted as automatically, don't know). My fd and I have managed to talk RM owner's son into giving us a further discount on already 50% off items. If you offer to pay cash, some stores may give a small discount. This still works as they are mostly brick and mortar shops.
You usually don't ask straight up about discount. Get friendly and make conversation before asking. My fd got a small discount at Barnstomer. He had exchanged email with the owner before we arrived at Tokyo. Sometimes you get a token gift like OP. We got denim calenders, stickers and badges from shops like Lee, Schott, Dry Bones etc. We were given some Lightning magazines at RM stores.
And people do bargain at the many vintage stores. I have seen a customer getting a deal on a 50s vintage Lee Stormrider. My experience is that you do not do that in one of those stores which flip limited edition NOS sneakers.

Being A brick and mortar shop is a very good point. Other than doing a business, they see themselves as an artisan too crafting creations lost over time. Taking pride in their products and coming across supporters appreciating their craft, they could reciprocate with discounts and free gifts.

Was given a small tote but that’s basically the store’s promotion at that time. As I was dealing with the store manager who is most likely an employee there, I doubt he has that much flexibility to discounts or gifts. We’ve gotten really friendly to the extent that he was askIng for my instagram so I guess he would had given whatever he could have offered.

Someone fired this thread back up…

The Flat Head Delraiser; these guys make some amazing stuff. This season was a stellar one. I grabbed up two of their flannels, but hesitated on their black corduroy trucker and missed out!

Note: When it comes to TFH… Don’t hesitate!

I swear half my closet is TFH now. The deals were too good on Y! auctions during covid/TFH going out of business.

I swear everytime I wear this short sleeve flannel out someone compliments it. Kind of wish they made it in more colorways (only other is standard red/black afaik)

Something that I’d like to ask, especially to those that owns a TFH’s jacket that’s of tea core Shinki HH. Would you be able to share some pics of your jacket after a period pdf wear ? I’m really curious to see how the jacket’s patina would be like after tea core surface from wear.

It’d be nice to see jacket pics like how some share their selvage jeans at diff stages of wear. How the fades set in from regular wear.

This looks great. Do you mind sharing your chest size and what size you bought. I'm looking to buy a flat head double rider (the LJ-HW001) in a size 40, but have heard these might run a size small (in which case I may need a 42)

Just a heads-up TFH jackets measurements are not always consistent throughout the years. That particularly jacket is a different model(obviously) than the one you're asking about which means it won't match up & it's a design from a while back.

I can give you the measurement of the 42 in the that model you're asking about.

The chest is 53cm p2p
Shoulders: 48.5cm
Sleeve length(straight down): 62cm
Waist:49.5cm

Yeah, relative to many other brands I would say so. I had a delraiser in 42 that was a little bigger. I just picked up one of those vanson x butterscotch commandos it's a small and the it's bigger.

Not sure where I got the impression that the older models tend to fit smaller but the measurements you posted for the 42 Delraiser in the very first post of the thread seem to be TTS albeit on the slim side.

I just picked up a 42 Delraiser (also with the green label) and I'm currently waiting for it to arrive.

I know! I immediately noticed this, it doesn't appear to be like that on others fit pics. Maybe it has to do with my very thin wrists and slender hands combined with the larger size.

I would prefer if the cuff was tight when zipped.

I think I could have squeezed into a size 42. I just measured with a tape, and this 44 has a 57mm pit to pit (flathead website measurements were accurate).
I think one size smaller is too small. And it looks like a good fit. A good leather cutter should be able to alter the sleeves without any problems.

It's annoying when you have to tinker with a new jacket, but if you like it so much that you want to keep it, I would do it. I've already done that ;)

I probably won't go to the trouble of altering it. Yes I'm happy with it. I told myself this is my last leather jacket, I need to calm down and appreciate what I have. This being my last jacket is how I justified spending so much, these and the RMC J24 are really pricey!
Then have fun with it.
And I know what you mean. I cancelled an order from Aero last year because I somehow came to the conclusion that I wasn't wearing what I had enough. I haven't bought a leather jacket since then.
I'm still thinking about a Baracuta G9 in suede, but that's more in the fabric category :D

Adding pics of some of my favorite flat head jackets I've owned. I particularly like the ones with the hookless grommet zipper. Not easy to find these. This is a good example of how the leather looks with some wear. Id say it's a near perfect design of they didn't add the side pockets although they're practical.

This is the flat head take on the Harley cafe racer. I like this look but the buco style is my go to for a cafe racer. This is a Deerskin model and while horse hide seems to be the forum preference this leather is incredible, surprisingly thick yet light. Very substantial while steel feeling incredibly soft. I sold this one last month as I had to trim my collection and clean some stuff out of the closet but if you come across one of these and you like the design you won't be disappointed.

I sold this one last week. It's essentially the same exact standard cross zip from flat head but with a unique color way. I know these don't get a lot of love and people prefer dark brown or straight black but I think flat head nailed the color combination better than any black and white combo I've seen from other makers.

I Genuinely feel like the flat head makes the best practical modern take on the cross zip. I used to think the version they made for selfedge without the epaulets was the best but the epaulets have really grown on me and I feel they're essential to the design and for some reason I think the std model fits better than the selfedge version(deleaiser) because of the back design. I don't care for the belt or empty belt loops so I'm glad they left that out.

Was a difficult decision to part with it but had to make some space in the closet and run out the collection.

During a recent trip to Rivet & Hide London, tried this beauty on. Flat Head Deerskin jacket. This is a size 40 on me. I apologize for the bad photo it was shot into a mirror, which is always a good path to making a bad photo.
I didn’t buy this one but, my gears were turning for sure! Such a cool jacket!

So nice! I've seen this on Instagram & checked it out on their website would love to see it in person. I was very Tempted to pick it up. I have been trying to pare my closet down to "the" one ideal jacket and in my mind this may be it. I have looked at the RMC x Lewis cyclone but I have no idea how those fit. Flat Head uses some really nice Deerskin and I'm sure RMC does too but I've never seen one of those in person. How was it?
