What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Yesterday I was driving through two inches of snow, today it's over 50 degrees. Crazy weather! I have a day of clean work, just some bidding and calls so I get to wear a nice hat. Today I'm wearing my John Batterson felted edge, it isn't marked as a twenty but has an original $20 price tag.

Today’s Stingymas post is a jet black Tirard. Ragondia (nutria) felt from the ‘50s, with a 5¼ cm brim. Unusually for me, I tend to wear this one brim up more often than not. View attachment 665574 View attachment 665575

This morning my lid of choice is this open crown western style hat from Jackson Hole Hat Company in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Love that one, Timmy. The brim curve makes it something of its own, between a lords hat and a pencil curled western.

What we wore for dress-up in Cheyenne, Wyoming around 1900.... a formal western hat with fancy silk ribbon and silk wrapped underbrim that becomes the edge binding on top. Not a hat you run across every day of the week.
