How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Any knives is the real question?

Ha. You a knife guy too? I’ve been nuts for a while but this summer - Two Hinderer, Two Chris Reeve, Quiet Carry, and an Arno Bernard. Oh, and a Protech Strider and Spartan Harsey. Sold some knives and gear to fund some of this insanity. Think I’m done for a bit.

Vanguard Leather of America, never heard of them. This vest appears to be a very substantial naked cowhide, Naked Skin they call it.

Nabbed this Buzz Rickson's American Sportswear AN-6552 for less than half the original price from Mercari--and still in good condition! With the BR price increases since COVID buying used (MSRP would've been 184,800.00 JPY in 2021/22 and the 2025 catalogue's AN-6552 goes for 286,000.00 JPY) is probably the best way to go these days.

I was just recapping my current interests and here what it looks like:

- 1 currently ordered jacket (long term)
- 1 jacket about to be ordered
- 1 jacket in talks

Then there are the list of what I am lusting after:

- 1 for the design (buttons)
- 1 for the type (longer, maybe a trench)
- 1 for the warmth (maybe shearling)
- 1 specifically for riding (thinking about Lewis Leathers)

There are a few others as well, this is getting quite excessive... how about you guys?
Excessive? Depends who you ask, my partner would certainly think so, to me it just sounds familiar-
I have one currently on order (ETA 2 Weeks)
I have one in mind which will be ordered very soon (I keep meaning to start a thread on that, in order to gather consensus/opinions, let's just say it will be "different")
Once those are in hand/on order respectively, I am already thinking of the next two, a button-up overcoat and a "work" coat
I am like those Italians (well I am one!) that start talking about what to cook for supper whilst still having lunch!!

I saw one of Terry Mitchell's YouTube videos a couple years back, and this is the jacket that started the whole journey for me. 1st edition 1948 Hercules motorcycle jacket. I paid a pretty penny for it, but it's at least worth a trial run for me.

Received it and it is nice shape. Has some small perforations from old patches but hardly noticeable to me. I've found there's a sweet spot in obtaining vintage - if you go too old I can't shake the feeling that the jacket will spontaneously combust while wearing. Late 1940s seems to be the sweet spot unless you found a unicorn.

I have an early WWII M422A jacket that belonged to my wife's grandfather during the war. If you're not careful when putting it on, the seams can rip at high-stress areas. You need to be very gentle with it, and I imagine the same with the older jackets you're describing.

I just found a brand new with tags Schaefer outfitters cattle baron vest in charcoal grey for $40 on ebay.

I bought one last year I think it was and it wound up being too small because they aren't number sized, this one should actually fit me.

Are you going to be able to flatten out the collar flap on that PW ?

That sorta thing would drive me crazy and I wouldn't be able to enjoy the jacket if I couldn't fix the collar flap.
I’m not sure I understand what collar flap is, lol. I actually love the collar, it lays exactly the way I clip all my collars that don’t lay this way. I’ve owned about a dozen PW jackets and I think this might be my favorite. They typically sell for sub $100 and for the money they can’t be beat!

I do plan on soaking the chest pocket flap so it goes back to flat but that’s it, a steal for $50 IMO!
