After a good series of successful ventures, we come to the unsuccessful ones. In this case, it's the size that's completely wrong for my head.

Panizza Sud-Ovest, created exclusively for the Cabella store in Milan from 1924, still existing under another address.
View attachment 742560
The internal oval measures 19x16 centimeters, which corresponds approximately to a size 56 cm, or a size 7 in the United States.
View attachment 742561
Judging by the telephone number on the sweatband, the hat dates back to before 1970, the year the geographic area code was introduced in Italy.
View attachment 742562
The felt color is "Graffite," and the ribbon is also "Graffite," tone-on-tone, with a wide, pleated ribbon.
The brim measures 5 cm, the ribbon is 5.5 cm high, and the crown is 10.5 cm at its lowest point.
View attachment 742563
The felt is a mix; you can see some white threads, and it has a gray sheen like pencil leads.
View attachment 742573
As you can deduce from the writing on the sweatband, it is an "Exclusive Creation" for the shop and I confess that it is the first time I have come across a Panizza Sud-Ovest with its splendid brand.
The hat needs some attention because I think it's suffered quite a bit and, above all, a perfect head for its size.
Hopefully there is someone who can take this off your hands and give it love.

Here's another missed opportunity.
Borsa Fiocco 6.jpg

It arrived with the Panizza introduced yesterday and a couple of other hats you'll see soon, but it has the same flaw: it's too small.
A Borsalino Qualità Extra Superiore with an oval shape measures 19 x 16.5 centimeters.
Borsa Fiocco 1.jpg
I'm sorry, but I can't see the paper tag containing the hat's information; the sweatband is stucked to the lining in some places.
Borsa Fiocco interno.jpg
It's likely been heavily used and stored in a less than delicate manner over the years.
Borsa Fiocco 5.jpg
As you can see, the bow is on the back. The lining is an "antique" one, as are the markings and the height of the sweatband.
Borsa Fiocco 4.jpg

These are the measurements: the raw brims are 5 cm, the hatband is 5 cm high, and the lowest point of the crown is 11 centimeters. It needs some attention to get back to its perfect shape.

"Hopefully there is someone who can take this off your hands and give it love."
I make Jeff's exhortation my own, and I thank him.

Based upon quick calculations, this appears to be a size 56. Based upon your pictures, it is a beautiful hat.
Jeff, thanks for the clarification. I forgot to specify the approximate size.
I agree with you; it's a nice hat and has held up well enough to the present day.
I also think it's a mixed felt, but the sweatband would need to be raised, and the patient's condition doesn't allow it.

Resistol 3X BR 6 7/8 Black Resistol 3X HAND CREASED that has the normal Resistol liner but has BR *** Beaver on the sweatband & a label with "Felt Headwear By Byner Rolnick Division of Koracorp Inc Suggested $162 / Suggested retail $25 Mark up 46%
Full 55 & feels great B 3 1/2 Light Fine Felt

Would Koracorp be early 70's? I think they bought Resistol BN in 1969 & not sure how long they held it until it transferred again???

Interesting Label.
Very easy hat to wear with the 3 1/2 in brim.

Hot off the Press...
Ooopps, I did it again! Watching the darn hat for a week. Free return so only out $14 shipping if it's not right.

Resistol Tycoon 3X Beaver 6 7/8 , 3 1/4 brim in Granite Grey. I think it's an older hat late 70's or early 80's.
I saw the hat in wool for more money so taking a chance.

Not sure how Grey will look on me but I love the teardrop style & it seems like a hat that can be worn anytime/anywhere.

Another recent find.
Panizza Fausto homburg in Palladio (grey). Size 57 with the bound brim at a good 6cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. A few small moth nibbles at the crown but other than that as good as new. Fausto wasn't a trademark that I have found in the registry for Panizza, so can't say anything else about that. Wonderful classic homburg and Panizza at their finest.

I already have one of these, but at the price I couldn't resist.
Mossant Bayard in a blue colour called Orient. Size 56 with the raw edge brim at 6,5cm and the crown at 10cm at the front. Couldn't find anything on the retailer.

I normally take most my hat pictures in the early morning light so I dont have to deal with harsh sun or shadows, but this cute little Beaver Brand just got here and I cant wait! Noonday sun it is!

First off Im always a bit apprehensive about hats with no size tag, but in a message the seller said he wears 7-1/4 and its was a perfect fit. Happy to see it IS a 7-1/4!

Next is the "story".... this was supposedly worn in the Deadwood series... One of my favorite stories. Not sure if it was or not but it sounds good enough.

Hats in beautiful condition and I love the maroon-ish ribbon.... Different enough to be appealing to my eye.. even got shipped in a nice Bailey hat box. LOVE the curl. Would be nicer if it had a matching brim binding, but Im happy. Ill call this one a sucessful auction

Mayser "Grand Prix" "R", 58 cm, 154 grams, possibly late 1920s early 1930s. Made by Mayser Ulm for the Swiss market "Chapellerie Krämer Basel". Mayser Ulm Stiff Felts are difficult to find and this one is in excellent condition. I have five Mayser Ulm Stiff Felts and they all have the same width Bands and similar length Bows.

The Crown has a lower profile with a medium width Band and Bow. The overall condition is excellent.
Love the side profile. Lovely hat!

With winter fast approaching I’m about ready to start streaming the 3 seasons again. I’ll keep an eye on hats of the extras.
