The Flat Head vs The Real McCoy's: which jacket to choose?

Here's my trusty old Real McCoy's Steinbeck bought years ago when they had a shop in NYC. Wears like iron and fits me great.

    Seabiscuit jacket

Toby's jacket looks very much like the old Monarch or Hercules work jackets. I have a late 30's-early 40's horsehide Monarch that looks almost identical.

    Keeping indigo jeans dark

Whatever you do, don't baby your repro stuff too much - in the end it is just repro denim. Here's a pair of my first LVC '47 501XX. Sure, they've been washed in cold water a half dozen times using mild detergent and never seen the inside of a dryer, but I've worn the hell out of them over the...

Will jeans be going out of fashion?

Great photo of a pair of hickory stripped coveralls! Could be Lee's. Speaking of Lee's here's a cool pair of 1930's-40's Lee House marked overalls.

Will jeans be going out of fashion?

I'll never stop wearing denim work wear - at least as long as they continue to make decent reproductions of the classic Lee or Levi's jeans since I can't afford or find vintage denim in my sizes. Here's a photo of a pair of well worn LVC Japan reproductions of the 1955 501XX with an original...

B6 - Who makes the best?

Used to own a RMNZ redskin B-6 that was leftover wardrobe from Band of Brothers. It was a beautiful jacket but I found myself reaching for the D-1 or B-10 instead so I sold it a couple years ago.

IRVIN NUTS?...the ULTIMATE thread for those who love 'em!

Cobden, Amazing Irvin you got for yourself. Looks like it's in practically new condition. It's difficult being an Irvin fan here in the states as they are so few and far between except on UK ebay. Congratulations and enjoy the Irvin this winter, Grant

    ELC knits

Hi Bill, You're certainly right that replacing knits should be a pretty simple job most competent tailors could handle, but I've seen too many botched knit replacement jobs where the waist knit was installed with not enough tension so the jacket just droops, or installed too tight so the jacket...

A-1 Jacket / A1 Flying Jacket - The ultimate Golden Era flying accessory!

Paddy, If I ever get a repro A-1 this is how I'd want it to fit. The guy in the suit on the right is Billy Mitchell. Grant

    ELC knits

Hi, I had the knit waist and cuffs replaced on one of my original Bronco A-2s using a set of knits from RMNZ. The sleeve on the left is an original knit from a Bronco horsehide , the one on the right is the RMNZ replacement knit from a goatskin Bronco. I think the new knits that RMNZ are using...

    My new RMNZ Dubow

Hi George, Even though my RW is tagged a sz. 44 it's about an inch shorter in the torso and 3/4" inch trimmer in the chest than a standard sz. 44 from RMNZ. I asked Paddy about the size difference when I recieved your russset goat RW and she thought my jacket might have originally been intended...
