My girlfriend and I went for a flight in "Liberty Belle" back in April. I am jealous! We had to sit by the left waist gun until we were airborne. I would have loved to sit up there and watch the props spin.
The paperwork on the Radio Operator's station was a nice touch. Of the flying 17's I have seen this year I think I liked Aluminum Overcast the best. Oxygen hoses on the walls, the navigators seat actually in the nose. Hard to believe she used to be a fire ant bomber in the 60's!

This may or may not be the right thread to post this in, but here it goes.
I just picked up a pair of A-6A's. Overall they are in good condition. There are a few tears in the leather but I am looking for a local shop to repair those. The question I have is, what is the best way to clean up...
I keep expecting to find some hidden treasure out in the central valley. There were a number of AAF training fields out here. One can always wish right?
Howard the Duck
I know it's not really "vintage" but it does fall under weird and forgotten. B movie sci-fi film that was good for mind numbing entertainment. I just wish they would re-release it on DVD.
On a side note. Does anyone know what the round opening was for in plexiglass nose? I have asked a few bombardier veterans and no one knew. The only thing I could think of would be to wipe off the glass in front of the norden, but I can't imagine putting your hand out there at 25k feet.
Cold Rain, wind and mud. That's the best time to experience the quality suffering we all hope for in reenacting. One of my most memorable events was in Nebraska. It starting pouring so put the zelts on and kept going. It was amusing watching all of us trying to move a PaK up a slick muddy hill.
Greetings All,
I had been looking at the brass bomb tags on Aero's website earlier. The shipping from the UK would be alot more than the item itself. Does anyone know of a source in the US or Canada? I figure this is a long shot, but worth asking.
Thanks!
