The Complete Guide to suits: 57 Rules of Style

I agree totally, the overall image is ruined completely otherwise. In my humble opinion, the current 'fashions' in suits for the younger guy, as depicted in the photos accompanying the 'rules' are awful !! they do not flatter the male physique at all. I am a little ancient I guess (...

    M2N's Very First Custom Suit

Great pics - bring back memories of my own fittings. As you say, the whole experience is really interesting and I found it fascinating to see the suit being created through all the various stages. Looking forward to seeing you in the finished article !!

    Superb Leather Belts

Can I recommend to all fellow loungers this outstanding company. Read all the 'about' info - I can attest to the quality of their work and have just ordered another belt from them. OK it sounds a lot for 'just a belt' but quality never comes cheaply ! Who knows, one day your grandchild may...

Finally got to wear bespoke suit

Thank you all for comments / advice, I'm very grateful so keep it coming. On the subject of suits, I was dismayed (not really surprised) to learn that most 'off the peg' suits available in UK, even quite high end ones from well known brands, are made offshore in places like North Africa...

Finally got to wear bespoke suit

Thank you guys very much for your comments, much appreciated !! As I said, i had that suit made in 2006 by an excellent tailors here in Birmingham called Rosen & Nathan - I had decided to begin dressing more smartly and conservatively after happening upon this great website we all enjoy so much...

Finally got to wear bespoke suit

My daughter was married on 2nd March and I wore a suit which I had made in 2006 for the FIRST time. Don't ask me why I never wore it till now !!! Maybe I was waiting for the right event and this was it I guess [/IMG] [/IMG][/IMG]

    Leather Cap ??

Hi, Does anyone own one of these leather caps by Bailey ? I saw a guy wearing one and was surprised because I'd genuinely never seen one before !! I've tried a few different tweed caps and have never been happy with the way they look on me - they always seem to look good on others and i think...

New AERO 1930s Halfbelt in goat...A very serious pictorial review

Jan your jacket is amazing ! I am tempted to order a LHB in that lovely goat hide, sometimes FQHH is just too much and I think the goat is ideal for when the weather is not so cold. Thanks for sharing the pictures Colin

    THE INVADERS

As a kid of 14 in 1967, I was nuts about the 'Invaders' TV series starring Roy Thinnes. I only discovered recently that the whole series had been released on DVD and I've just finished watching series 1. I guess I bought them for purely nostalgic reasons really but even after all these years I...

The Day The Earth Stood Still (2008)

I'm on the fence ! I watched this movie recently and with an open mind. Remaking a classic movie ( which, lets be honest, is what the original is ! ) is no mean undertaking for any film maker - I mean, do you attempt to bring it 'up to date'? which is what has happened in this case, or...

    Civilian A-2

Hi Mike The jacket looks great on you, big or not but what really struck me is your look - you look like you stepped right out of the 40's !!!!! The hair etc is just spot on - if those pics were in B&W they could easily have been taken back during WW2 - totally cool !!!

Pleasant surprise at the mall today...

Getting Sloppier ! I know EXACTLY what you mean - its odd, but a well dressed man really does stand out from the crowd ( or should I say herd !) simply because it is such a rarity in these days of sloppy 'anything will do' clothing. I've noticed lately that even guys one would regard as...

    Recommendations for a summer blazer

Go For Gold Couldn't agree more !! The navy blue blazer is SO versatile and can be used in many ways to create either a formal OR casual look. I'm currently having a DB one made by my tailor in traditional blue serge and he himself said " its up to you but I'd recommend gold buttons"...
