Just popped the BIN on this Adam De Luxe, with a "Hand Sealed Edge" (not seen this before). The De Luxe's don't come around very often so had to jump on it.

Thanks, I'm sure I will - I had actually promised myself that I wouldn't buy any more brown hats as I have so many, but this one appeared to just click too well to pass up.

It will also be my first large-crown non-stingy fuzzy, so it did kind of fill a niche I didn't have, Or that's at least how i justified it to my wallet...

You know -- it's not clear to me that this is really a Lee hat. Seems like there would be information on the sweat and liner to that effect. Another curious aspect is the "JBS" branding iron pin (although, this could always have been added by a previous owner). Hmmmmm.....

OK...whats up with this, i put in a bid very early expecting to get outbid , its a 7 1/2 - 7 5/8 boater hat in perfect condition, ??what happened here? did i miss something? Great deal! I was watching that one and would probably have bid on it if I hadn't won that early OR in 7 5/8 LO. I was thinking that boater was closer to 7 5/8, not 7 1/2. Maybe 7 1/2 LO. And it's in excellent condition, but I wouldn't say perfect. Damn near perfect, but the brim does look a bit warped on the left side, although steaming it with a steam iron and weighting it down on a flat surface would fix that.

Oh yeah, the shipping said Parcel Post so I asked the seller if they would be willing to send Priority Mail for an extra fee. I'd suggest taking them up on it. I won a Dobbs boater about 5 weeks ago, the seller shipped Parcel Post, and I've yet to see it. The seller contacted the USPS and is going to give me a refund if she doesn't hear back from them soon.

Stevens hats had "Hand Felted Edge" (I have one, a 3X).

As to the "Lee" hat, it has clearly had both liner and sweatband replaced.
So only the tags under the sweatband, if they are still there, can tell the tale.

Okay, you got my attention.

I haven't heard of Adam offering a Cavanagh Edge before, but that doesn't mean they didn't. The word "Sealed," though, makes me think that it could be a glued overwelt. I'll be interested to hear more.
