Look on ebay and the classifieds here. You can often find a killer used jacket for that much. I've seen lots of Highwayman jackets this year on ebay.
Check uswings.com. They have "Indy" jackets that are not too far off from that and are a good deal for $195 on sale.
There are also other similarly styled jackets in abundance to be had. Good luck!
What size are you?

Thanks for the reply Butte. I thought about looking used but I tried that with riding jackets and could never get what I wanted, but I'm not against it.

I'm a measured 46 inch chest but I wear between a 44 and 46 jacket. I try to go 44 if possible because I'm not tall (5'9) and 46's tend to be odd fitting on me.

Totally understand, but sadly, the $400 is limiting in this market. Maybe some of the other guys have better ideas for you. Another brand is Schott - lots of them on ebay as well. Good jackets - I have 5 or 6 of them.

Base price on the Johnson Leather M-200 is $446. I do not own any Johnson gear but I have read some very positive reviews here (jack miranda?) on their products. They are based out of California, specifically San Francisco. I am hoping to visit their store in the next few years as I have family in that area.

I'm wearing a M-200 as we speak. It's custom fitted and a very nice thing.

I see Highwaymen turn up regularly on eBay, and they sell cheaper than most other Aeros I notice. It'll take a while, but with some patience you should find one within your budget.

Just a bit under $700.Keep in mind it's custom made.A stock M-200 would be around $450.They always have a good selection of hides ie.bison, horse, goat etc

I have wanted horse by them but Alan says he only has 2-2.5 oz horse in stock. What thickness is yours? What does teh jacekt weigh in pounds. If it's 3oz or more it will weigh about 6-7 pounds.

I saw on E-Bay Aero USA allows you to put your order in for a $400 deposit, I have about $275.00 in my paypal and need to sell a couple things and I should have it.

I've lived with myself for 34 years, I know the type of guy I am, I want the heavy horsehide highwayman or half belt jacket in brown. If I settle whatever it is I settle for will just end up on eBay.
