This is the only photo I could find of my Chevignon jacket. It's from 1990 or 1991.
Sorry for the cropping (looked completely stupid) and the quality of the picture.

But the color of the jacket is visible. I hope.

Longtime lurker, new poster. Anybody know more about the Chevignon company and its relative quality? I have one too.

What little I know: Chevignon is apparently a French brand, and mine is marked in French as using "Argentine Leather". It's a kind of G1 variant, runs distinctly short in the body and sleeves for its size, but has great patina.

Chevs were fashion jackets cashing in on the adventurer look which was so big in the 1980's. They made thousands of the things and their quality was along the lines of, say, US Wings - a bit above a mall jacket. There are still collectors of them and they talk about these jackets with same absurd reverence of any other jacket afficiaonado.

I think the company created the Raider design as worn by MacGyver.

Hi,

The agent for chevignon Sweden in the 80's-90' was a very good friend of mine! The early Chevignon leatherjackets was of a very high quality! The man who started Chevignon was only interested in leathers in the beginning! He was taught by a french leathermaker I have been told! I went to their headquarter in France picking up leatherjackets in the 80's-90's! Have some Favourites still from them! Cheers Joakim

That is an Aero black steerhide from the 1980's. One of their earliest ones.

Thanks for the kind words. I purchased it from fellow lounger JakeHolman recently. I'm blessed that he had Aero reline it appropriately and even more blessed that it didn't fit him. There are benefits to being a bit shorter.

There is some beautiful patina on display here which I've enjoyed.:eusa_clap

It's a great jacket, this one I will keep forever ( I think )! I kept Alans nametag on as it blends perfect with the overall look!

No Baron, it was put in by the previous owner, who then left it in a shed for several years, so when I got it, it was completely covered in about half an inch of mould, and it took quite an effort to restore it, the pinch buckles on the back are cute too! Anyone else would probably have dumped it but I took it on board as an exercise, it's more of an objet d'art now because the damage had been done already, it's still wearable, but only in a fashion sense...
