Makeup w/ good Coverage for Acne

Ladies- I am wondering if you have any tips for the best makeup to cover acne. Specifically, lots of small, red bumpy acne.

I am looking for something that gives reasonable coverage, I could buy at a place like a drugstore or Sephora, and not have to order online. I'd prefer something that doesn't aggravate it too much, and also isn't horrifically filled with chemicals. If there's a more "natural" product out there, I would be all for it. I have very pale skin.

I really like Elf's mineral glow powder, but I feel like I need something with more coverage- or perhaps something that goes underneath the foundation that I can put right on my spots?

Right now my hormones are raging, and unfortunately, there is nothing I can do to keep the acne down. I can't mess with my hormones, vitamins, or diet too much. Every treatment I have tried has helped, but within 12 hours I have a new crop of acne coming up.

Thanks ladies!

Clinique has a special foundation called Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup that gives pretty good coverage and treats breakouts at the same time:

I've used that when my hormones have run rampage and I like it. Buty maybe you were more thinking concealer/coverstick or similar? Clinique (yes, I'm partial to their stuff) has a good concealer for acne as well, called Acne Solutions Clearing Concealer that both conceals and treats:

Either one would work well. I am just in a really bad flare (the worst I've ever had). The semester is starting and I've got a wedding to attend; both events where I would prefer to look a little bit better! I've never tried Clinique so I will have to give them a go.

Thank you! :)

Have you tried a mineral powder foundation, like Bare Escentuals? It might work better than the ELF mineral glow powder, which is more of a powder than an actual foundation with coverage. (While I love ELF mineral blushes & eyeshadows, I don't think their foundation is not as good as BE). I used to wear mineral foundation all the time, and I found the coverage quite good and non-irritating. I wore Bare Escentuals in whatever the lightest shade was. I also hear quite a few good mentions of Jane Iredale mineral makeup.

I tried Bare Essentials Mineral Veil (thanks to the Beauty Box). Is that the same product as their foundations?

I actually found that the Veil had less coverage than the Elf Mineral Glow. But I don't know anything about their products other than those I tried.

Thanks! :)

Sheep, you need one of the foundation powders, the veil then goes over that. I can tell you, as a girl with rosacea, Bare Minerals rocks. It's expensive but the coverage is amazing. I just can't wear it for more than a few days or it gives me flare ups. I wear it for about five days, then switch back to Mac, then back again...

^ Yes, the foundation is different than the Mineral Veil, that's just a powder. I agree that BE is amazing. I never had any issues with the foundations or powders. The blushes did bother me sometimes, though, because of the bismuth.

Thank you! I'm really unfamiliar with foundations, so this explains a lot. I've been lucky that most of my life I have felt I didn't "need" to wear a foundation, just a light powder, but this is getting ridiculous. I'd only "need" to wear it one day a week (perhaps for a few weeks more than a few days) so hopefully no skin reactions.

Thank you! I am definitely going to check out bare minerals now.

This gal has REALLY bad acne/cystic acne and you can barely tell because of her incredible make-up routine. Brave video for her to show everyone what she looks like before she puts on the make-up.
