Thanks guys! The 8 panel is new to me, but little by little I'm learning. I commend Barry on his caps; now I understand what he does in all the details of putting together an 8 panel.

I was wearing tweed today so my silver diamond Johnny J cap complemented the outfit rather nicely!

Cordova Review

The first time I ever wore a cap it was cold and snowing in London. I was about seven years old when I borrowed my Grandfathers cap. Not only did it keep me warm but i felt like I had grow another foot taller wearing the that weather beaten old cap. My Grandfather was and is to this day my idol.

That was over 50 years ago. Today I received my new creation from Cordova. Truly it is craftsmanship at it's best. This plaid chef-d'oeuvre is amazing in all respects. The material is right out of the 1940's. Stylish with the sense of a by gone era. The lining bears the logo of Cordova Hand made Caps it is a touch of elegance. Then there is the leather sweatband that oozes class and finishes off the cap to perfection.

Can you tell I like it!

I was a bit sceptical at first buying this cap sight unseen. Sure I had read the comments by other customers of Cordova but the internet is not short on hyperbole. There is not a lot of grace when shipping goods to Australia where I now live. I am sure I would not be the first Aussie who has been bitten by an internet deal. Rest assure all of my worries were in vain. Then there is Johnny the man behind Cordova. He alleviated all of my anxieties. What a good man to negotiate a transaction. He kept me informed of the status of my new creation. Not only is he a master at his craft he brings an integrity in his dealings as well as a great personal touch. I was made to feel that I was more than just a customer I was made to feel someone special. I could argue that my head does not do my cap justice but just like back then, 50 years ago I put on the 'Cap' I grew a little taller and sensed a warm glow around me.

Is my review a little over the top? you bet yer but every word is true.

By the By I am looking to my next Cordova creation in black and white hounds tooth.

I think both of these would have a very nice drape.

I wanted to write a review of my 8 panel newsboy cap with the same 40's Vintage fabric, and after reading LF above, I can not agree enough with him; the quality of the product and attention to detail that Johnny J. gives to every cap he produces, the attention that he gives to his client by being in constant communication, the level of costumer service he provides is par to none, I love my cap. When I mentioned to him that i was going on a weekend getaway with the wife, and since I live about an hour from his shop, he insisted on hand delivering my cap so i can take it with me on my little trip. Cordova Handmade Caps has gained my respect and a repeat costumer here.

Cheers!!

Johnny sent me these pics of my newly finished Pebble diamond twill tweed cap the other day. His communication throughout the cap making process has been nothing short of impeccable.

The brim front measures 2 1/4" at the center, which is the shorter version; there is also a 2 1/2" brim available. I gave Johnny my body measurements, pointed out pics of cap dimensions that I liked in relation to the frame of the wearer, and let him decide on the cap's final dimensions since I'm a complete novice in vintage style caps. The cap has a 11" overall width; that's also a slightly reduced dimension. I'll post some selfies from all angles when the cap has traveled across the Atlantic.
I'm eagerly awaiting my first Cordova cap. Thank you Johnny, and see you soon for the next cap!

Thank you, kid. Yes, that's the one. In this thread we've seen the Silver, the Manx-Cream and a dark brown version of this cloth so far. This is the first in Pebble, to my knowledge.
Looks like I'll commission a b/w herringbone tweed later this season, and a linen.

That is a gorgeous tweed on Rabbit's new cap!! :eusa_clap
This thread is less than a year old and I am very impressed with the increased variety, quality, and service by Cordova Handmade Caps!
A few pages back there was a white denim cap shown. That cap has been brewing in the back of my mind and I think I need to contact Johnny about purchasing one.

Thank you, Che.
I like all of the color versions of the diamond twill and could easily imagine wearing them all, but the pebble stood out for me. It looks like this will be a very versatile color for different flannel and tweed suits, as well as for leather jackets.
