What was the last TV show you watched?

Masters of Sex. season 4 opener (scanned). I stopped watching somewhere early in season 3, but I thought I'd give it a quick glance. Nice to see Harry and Don's lawyer from Mad Men. Strong Mad Men technical vibe as well. I'm tempted to come back to the series for Lizzy Caplan, but I don't think she's that good.

The Strain. Continues to surprise me in finally finding its legs and focus. It's not a great series, but it is entertaining.

Ray Donovan. I don't know what to say. It's ridiculous, but I'm still in it.

Indian Summers. I wasn't exactly on the edge of my seat, waiting for the new season, but I found myself very happy it was back. I really enjoy the feel of this show. It's far more important to me than the weaknesses of the story.

Black Market. on Viceland channel. Almost always interesting. Almost always sad. It's a harsh world out there.

the Colin Kaepernick saga... I'm thinking A LOT of Americans need a little refresher course on the Founding Fathers, our early history, and the type of people who fought to establish the values represented by our flag. As far as I'm concerned, he's acting in the true spirit of the USA. He's actually exercising those values. I know a lot of people don't like to get political in this forum, but it is all over the TV. I haven't been able to escape it, and believe me, I wish I could.

Roddenberry disagreed with Hunter's decision, particularly because it meant they had to look for a new leading man and had little time to do so, so for a while he told people that it was him and not Hunter who had made the decision to recast. People accepted Roddenberry's version of the story at face value until Executive Producer Herbert Solow reminded them that it was the executives at NBC and Desilu who made the casting decisions, and that Roddenberry really had no official say in the matter.

Tried to watch Harley And The Davidson's, mini series. Didn't make it past Walter riding the prototype fast up and down all the hills. Every one knows, the first prototype, could not get out of it's own way! It was their second bike, based on a Merkel that had the power they were looking for. My Indian motorcycle friends told me not to bother, just a propaganda film for the motor company!

Halt and Catch Fire. This show is confusing, because while I have the notion that they should rely more heavily on the relationships and not try to hit every major time period and technology landmark, the relationships aren't particularly interesting, or at least aren't interestingly written. The acting is really good, but the material is rather slipshod. I want to like this show. I like these 80's throwback shows. Because you're doing a period piece, you don't have to mention everything that happened in that period. I'm surprised they haven't mentioned the Pinto at some point. Maybe that is what their main demographic wants? Or what they think the demographic wants? Nostalgia. Eh. I think back to Mad Men, and some of the mandated mentions, like the big murders of the time, were some of the weakest episodes. Or how some of the audience wanted the Manson Family to be a big part of that segment of time, while others of us were dreading the show getting derailed or pulled out of focus. It's OK. Skip some of it. We aren't watching the series as a half-assed historical lesson. It makes me appreciate The Americans even more.

I will say that Halt and Catch Fire has one of the best series opening credit pieces on TV. That white cursor shooting across the crude digital red screen with images that are obfuscated is really sharp.

Watched all the current episodes of ' Jericho' (2016 -)...very disappointing. I guess it could be described as a sort of watered down British version of ' Hell on Wheels'
It's pretty tame & slow & very soap opera-ish, though the costumes kept me interested.

I did start to watch ' The Knick' & although I liked the style, the story & Clive Owen just didn't interest me.

We watched Jericho on Acorn: for us it never seemed to gel: a lot of stories and back stories.

I couldn't agree more. We get it--the show is set in the 1930s/40s/50s/60s/70s/whenever; you don't have to include specific things and/or events to constantly remind us of it.

I'd never heard of the show, and just having researched it, learned that owing to disappointing viewership and high costs it has not been renewed.

Fantomworks, one of the few automotive restoration shows I can stomach because the shop personnel are never shown to be cross with one another. They always work together, and the show is about the restoration of the car, not the personality defects of the cast.

"The Night Of" episode seven and, with much chagrin, I am again revising my prison survival time down (based on the razor blade to the carotid artery scene).

Since I was at zero seconds of survival before, I am now going to have to take a NASA launch approach and say that my survival time is "P minus 5" (prison minus five minutes) as I am sure I will be killed during processing before even entering the prison proper. A survivalist population knows how to cull its weakest members.

As to the show itself, while the story has been accumulating a bit too much unbelievable stuff for my taste - the dialogue and acting are so engaging that I'm still really enjoying it overall. One episode to go (and, based on past experience, I expect my "P minus" time to change).

The wife read an article about Norway's Slow Tv, and now she has me looking up similar programs on youtube to slow us down at night.
If you don't know, Slow Tv is an HD camera minute by minute, of a train ride from Bergen to Oslo (from the cab driver's pov).
Tonight it's a train ride in Austria, with snow, mountains, and a river.
As I'm on a self imposed 4 days off for much needed rest, these programs are really interesting.
