Today

Today I wore my black fedora and this ignorant girl in my band said," Nice Orthodox Jew hat."

I corrected her on her mistake and informed her that it was a fedora. But, I wasn't sure how to correct her on the religion part though.I don't think the Orthodox Jewish people don't have a set hat as far as I know. I see them walking around Skokie and thus far I have seen a myriad of different hats, but I haven't heard of any one set hat. I really didn't take too much offense granted this is an anime girl who wears a beanie with cat ears on it.

Now that's one I haven't heard. I would kind of take it as a compliment and tell her to call me Rabbi.

The anime chick thing figures. I suppose int he real world things look differently than they do in animation.

Dumbest Question etc......

While walking through my local park on a fantastic cold crisp sunny winters day last week, dressed similar to my avatar, I was asked if they were filming "A period drama" nearby, and was I an actor? It is ironic that I am a TV extra background artiste, but no, certainly not filming any dramas at the moment. I just like to look smart occasionally especially when on business!

I would think that anime, with its strong film noir aesthetic, would have it's share of fedoras, but I don't know. they should.

Last Friday, same suite, same shirt, same hat as about a month ago. Same co-worker. Same comment "Gee, you're wearing your gangster outfit today." Yea, lady. You already said that. Whatever. It does get tiresome.
