They have Memphis in veg-tanned cow??? When I emailed them, they said only HH is possible for Memphis and that wasn't that long ago...

They even had it as a display-piece, if I am not totally mistaken. I was enquiring about the Dominator in veg-tanned cow and Jack directed me to the Mephis they had on a puppet to show the leather.
I hope I am not misguiding you. I always took it for a Memphis, which is a style that I really like. Slim chance I got it confused with a Bronx, but I really don’t think so, Monitor.

I believe you, just that when I asked, they said Memphis isn't going to happen in any hide other than Horse. I just checked on their website, it's still available only in HH for online order. Not sure why, though... They mentioned something about Guitar Wolf but I don't know what's that got to do with anything.

I'd still love to have that jacket, one way or the other.

Have you ever ordered anything from Japan on these websites? Is it a smooth transaction/process? I've seen a few auction sites but I'm a little dubious about going for it.
I have used proxy service to buy from Yahoo Auction Japan, Rakuten and other sites for over 5 years. I purchase on average 2-3 items per month from Japan. I have only had one bad transaction so far. A seller on Rakuten sent me the wrong size and I couldn't get an exchange or refund because the seller ignored my enquiry and I did not pursue because the item was on sale and costs only around GBP 40 (return postage will probably cost me GBP 10-15).
There are indeed sellers on Yahoo Auction Japan selling replicas and fake branded items. So there is the issue of spotting fake but the risk of getting fake Japanese brands is low which is why I stated Japanese brands.
The second issue is a lot of the sellers in Japan do not sell directly to overseas customers. So more often than not, you have to go through some sort of proxy service.
For example, there isn't one 666 dealer on Rakuten who would sell directly to overseas buyer.
https://global.rakuten.com/en/search/?tl=0&k=666 ladies leather jacket&l-id=search_regular
https://search.rakuten.co.jp/search/mall/666+ladies+leather+jacket/
Since registering on Yahoo Auction JP requires a valid local phone number and address, most oversea buyers use proxy service. I have used a number of proxy service over the years. Currently, I like From Japan the best. Buyee comes second.
https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/en/
The third issue is tax and duty which I cannot help you with cause I live in a city where there is no import duty other than on tobacco, hard liquor and petrol and no sales tax at all except on motor vehicles. The Japanese has a 10% sales tax applicable to almost all items and only a handful of stores provide tax free shopping on internet. Private sellers on Yahoo auction do not charge sales tax but the stores do and you can see the applicable tax on the listing if there are any. There are no private seller on Rakuten so all items are subject to sales tax. Not a lot of Rakuten sellers deal directly with overseas buyer and even fewer stores provide tax free shopping. If you buy through the proxy service it is counted as local sales.

Sometimes Aero has boys jackets for a decent price on their sales page. Usually half belts though. A boys jacket ( 8 - 12 year old) might fit you.

Like monitor suggested, you could look into 'fashion jackets' made by companies like ralph lauren. They are very much overpriced in their full price stores but you can find some very nice jackets at great prices in their outlet stores. I bought this Ralph lauren halfbelt for my girlfriend for just €150. The jacket is well made and the leather is pretty thick.

Wow, this one looks pretty good for a Ralph Lauren leather jacket and they even used Talon zippers. I didn’t know that they use quality leather for their jackets rather than thin lambskin mall jacket stuff. Even if I didn’t handle your jacket it seems to be a good deal!

Roermond, Netherlands. Their offerings change from day to day so you have to be a bit lucky finding something nice. However, they had a full size range of this particular particular jacket in their store for months, at giveaway price. Funny thing, people visiting these fashion outlets are usually looking for stuff with huge brand-names on it. Jackets like these without any visible brand-name don't sell so they get marked down.

Thanks. Good to know. we‘ve been to Roermond many times - Not too far away from Cologne.

I've never been there, literally the other side of the country... Is it worth the trip there?

They even had grizzlies
View attachment 241126

I handled one of these grizzlies at the last London meetup and they honestly felt like a joke.
£2250 (maybe £2500) if i remember right, thin characterless lambskin sleeves, thin lambskin fleece panels, honestly it felt like an absolute ripoff! @red devil and i both couldn't believe how bad the value for money was.
For that price you could get every colour variation of the Aero Grizzly and you would have three superior jackets!
I didn't even bother trying it on...

I absolutely agree. In the outlet store they were priced €700 which is still too much. This jacket was €300, it didn't fit and felt flimsy. I ended up buying the jeans for €39 which imo is a great deal.

What?!? that jacket above €300!?! It retailed at around £2000+. While I think RRL is overpriced (tell me a fashion brand that isn’t) I still think €300 is one hell of a deal.

I think this might be an option if you're looking to complete your jacket collection and this is the style you're missing. If you're looking for a go-to jacket it might be better to safe a few hundred more and buy a quality jacket.

Rivetts are another vintage UK brand that turn up in smaller ladies size, one on Ebay currently:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164185154356
Rivetts are great. I think I've spotted a few on a stall in Brick Lane Market in London. They didn't have my size but I remember being impressed by the quality. I already have a vintage "lightening" style jacket that set me back (I kid you not - 30 quid) and it's the most beautiful jacket I own. A miracle find. Fits me like a glove and is sturdy as heck.

Rivetts are a great alternative to Lewis. There were any designs in common across their catalogues both ways (i.e. each were "inspired" at one time or another by the other). At some point -I believe in the early 80s - Rivett's / Highwayman were bought out by Lewis and the brand left to slide out of existence. EXamples undser both brands were every bit as good as Lewis, but becasue they don't have the brand cache among the Ace Cafe revivalists, originals tend to sell for vastly cheaper than comparable Lewises. That said, a ladies Lewis in a small size, 34 or so, should also be more affordable.

If you're keen on original vintage British jackets, Hi Star were always great - their website has disappeared, but they are still active on Facebook. I'm told the Camden Stalls pitch is long gone, but they still crop up here and there, including at Portobello Road - I believe they still have a pitch on a Friday and/or Saturday down at the Westway end. Best stock and most fairly priced of the London dealer's I've seen.

At the more budget end of the market, Goldtop might be worth a look too: https://www.goldtop.co.uk/jackets-ladies They already do their men's jackets m2m asx an option, with ladies jackets' listed as "coming soon".

I've spent today going through my jackets. I've put up a bunch on eBay in an attempt to minimise the collection so I can save up for something special. I have far too many and none are "perfect".

Going custom is probably the best way. Men are easy to tailor for, relatively - with ladies, there are so many ways that even within the same notional size the body shape can vary, it's much better to go custom if you want perfection. If you can make a trip of it, the best way is to visit the Aero factory and get measured up there, try on things, see the available hides -it's a blast. Might also be worth seeing what sale stock they have... here and there, I've seen them have a whole whack of size 34 jackets on the sale page (samples, trainee jackets, and such, occasionally orders that fell thrtough from Japan, where smaller sizes are much more common).

I like this one I picked up in the States but the back sleeve panels bother me. The hide on the rest of the jacket is fairly thick but the back sleeve panels are significantly thinner and grainier. Would you consider this a defect? Not sure why it bugs me so much ha.

I had that on a Perfecto type I bought years ago. Didn't bother me once I forgot about it... the thinner panels will in theory tear easier, but it hasn't happened with mine. With them tucked out of the way on the udnerside, probably unlikely.

Nope. This is a Straight To Hell Commando. Saw it online and kinda liked it so I took a chance. It's a nice fit. I'll probably get bored of all the metal hardware eventually but for now it's fun as a casual jacket. It's just those back panels - grrrrrrr. Would it bother anyone else the way it does me?

Likely depends on the money too! How were STH to deal with? THere's a lot of their more rockabilly-punk-western (what else would you expect from such an obvious Clash influence??) bits that appeal to me.

I bought my Aero grizzly in mint condition for £400, even for €300 the RRL is still a crap jacket, if it was given to me i would most likely not wear it, it was honestly that bad.
