Jewellery, gents?

My grandparents and their siblings loved jewelry and thus (being the only grandchild on both sides of the family), I was very fortunate to inherit a bunch. I acquired them far too soon but I wear a gold wedding band and a single stone diamond ring that belonged to my grandfather's older brother and sometimes a gigantic square pinky ring that has its 1"x3/4" top surface covered in pave set diamonds with larger emerald cut stones in the corners. Perhaps surprisingly, the latter came from my Irish and not Greek side of the family.

I also wear a gold byzantine style cross and chain that I purchased here in Cairo. The Karat stamp is in Arabic. I don't wear a watch as I've always believed that the ultimate luxury in life is not needing to give a Tinker's D*&M what time it is.

I do however have my grandfather's (and his brother's) pocket watches and treasure them.

It occurred to me that a few watches and my cufflinks aside, most of my jewellery which is decorative rather than functional (cufflinks and watch are functional, a ring - at least all of mine, none of them being a wedding ring or otherwise status signifier) I wear all the time.... I've been tempted to pick up a couple of pinky rings for my left hand, nothing expensive - probably silver, with different colour stones to wear with different outfits... Does anyone else have jewellery that they wear like this, as accessories to different oufits or for different occasions, or are we men all more uniform in our approach to jewellery?

I wear the above mentioned pinky ring only if I'm going very "over the top" with the mediterranean mobster look at an event.

Frankly, I never wear it if I'm not wearing a plain black suit. In hindsight, it might look OK with a pair of white Burmuda Shorts and white embroidered shirt open to the navel...but that was my cousin Pete's look (complete with pinky ring).

I think a gold monogram or a signet pinky ring is a very tasteful piece of jewelry for a man. I don't know if I'd swap rings to match a particular outfit, I'd rather go for the timeless look of the signet/monogram, in gold....Will go with everything and isn't over the top.

Two rings, max, though for a man IMO. A wedding band and/or a signet/monogram.

The pinky ring is a little ridiculous...and it's in the US...but it is fun to wear now and again. I will snap a photo of the other I wear however and post it tomorrow.

I wear a pinky ring every day. It's what someone told me was a "machinist's" ring--supposedly made from a piece of pipe during WWII. Whatever it may be, I love it. When I go out on the town I wear a 1950's skull and crossbones ring, the type that was sold in the old Johnson-Smith catalogs.

Jewellry? It's MY jewellry.

I wear a Stainless Steel Rolex Submariner, that I bought in Hong Kong in 1957 or 58.
I have had it cleaned and serviced by Rolex, in NYC a few times, and see no reason to change it. It is as accurate as an obsolete retiree with no place to go, will ever need.
I carry an Emerson CQC 7B, which has been slightly improved by adding Dark yellowing Ivory scales and titanium bolsters.
Craig Spegel made the smooth African Blackwood grips on my Yost Custom Browning P-35 retro 9mm, and I am sure that Uncle Lou Alessi would be very pleased to know that I consider his cordovan leather work jewellry. It is!

Is a walking stick jewellry? Arlen McNabb before his passing, made me a stick of African Blackwood. with three silver spacers made of Silver coins, and a Rams horn handle. It is not just a cheesy affectation, like a patch over the eye. I wish it were.
It, however, DOES look far better than those aluminum jobbies at the local pharmacy.

Pretty Regular

Typically, my favorite watch -- an Omega Speedmaster, my wedding band, and my college class ring. I've a few sets of cufflinks, but usually don't wear cufflink shirts. Sometimes I like to wear another watch. My other favorite is a wind-up of automatic day, date, month, moon phase Zodiac.

-I keep mine in a drawer and carry a Spyderco Combo Delica. The CQC is so nice, I would hate to mess it up.

I better carry those goodies now. No use saving them for "good" at my age.
Besides, a few nicks, dings and scars will mean that the CQC, the Pistola and me, will be about even in the wear department. My wife did not want me to carry the great stick when I first got it, but it was way too cool not to.

That sonuds cool. I've always liked Keith Richards' skull ring - just recently I was toying with the idea of one of those as a pinky ring.

The ring I wear daily at the minute are like that - the garnet is so dark it looks black in most lights, actually, so they don't tend to clash with anything. I do want more rings for different looks, the question really is which fingers to have them sized for, i.e. whether to wear them in addition to or in place of my regular rings.

Heh. I'd think nothing of one on each ring finger plus one on each pinky. The peacock gene again, probably.

I used to wear necklaces, but then just stopped. For whatever reason, I tend to favor bracelets and rings. I think it may be because I don't like having something around my neck that can get snagged. I have not really had issues with bracelets or rings.

I have a black onyx ring, repro U Boat ring, U47 Scapa Flow ring, and a scrollwork ring.

Bracelets - mostly gemstone bead ones. Some I bought, some I made, and some I bought but took apart and remade into new ones with other stones. Then I also have some latitide/longitude coordinates metal bracelets.

I haven't really worn the rings much, and if I do, it's mainly the onyx one.

I do wear the gemstone bracelets all the time however.

One other type of bracelet that I am planning to buy is an adjustable ropework bracelet. I wanted something more "nautical style" to go with my wardrobe.

I like silver jewelry. Especially those that are rodium plated for a white gold effect. I also love gold also but my skin tone doesn't sit well with it.

I wear rings , chains , and bracelets but not all together . Its a piece by piece situation for the most part. Never a ring and a bracelet . Maybe a necklace and ring.

I go for the 70's guido vibe 30 inch chain loose wrist watch with a slick hairstyle. Slicked back hair Etc.

Watch apart I didn't wear jewelry at all for years. Then I got into body piercing, titanium mostly. I briefly had an eyebrow piercing but it rejected quickly, apart from that I've never had any piercings above the neck. I've contemplated an earing- in gold which is very out of character for me- because a bloke at work had one but I think my ears stick out too much for an earring to look balanced.
I've got a couple of narrow silver necklaces with a small cross. A really narrow gauge one for day today and a slightly thicker snake chain for swimming.
For a wedding ring I went for budget black "Anodized" titanium that peeled almost straight away; black paint perhaps, with a stone held in by tension. I felt it was a bit too "Bling" for me, it looked more subtle on the internet. Due to constant hand washing and sanitising I've stopped wearing it this year.
Apart from that I can claim ownership of two pairs of cufflinks. Concorde ones that I bought in BA's online sale of redundant Concorde merchandise when they retired her. My partner brought back a pair of silver and black enamel Sydney Opera House cufflinks from Australia.

I wear a black faced silver Seiko chronograph on my right wrist which matches my silver Team ring
worn on the right ring finger. The ring often draws comparison to Magnum PI but has a diamond encircled
bevel signifying the constellation Orion, the hunter, and a gold Orthodox cross.
