Unobtanium has been around engineering circles for some time. It adequately describes the properties of a material you need to complete the task, but no such material has yet been discovered.

Found this add for Stetson Ermine hats dated 1941.

Adjusted for inflation, $150.00 in 1941 is equal to $2,733.77 in 2020. Annual inflation over this period was 3.74%.

I have never seen the font used for "Stetson" that is in that hat. WOW! Right out of Indian Jones and the Temple of Beaver. Wasn't that a movie about a resourceful guy that beats off all kinds of Ebay bidders and a flaky non-responsive seller to get that ONE hat he was seeking?

He says he is eager to restore this one, and has finished restoring my MacLachland Golden Beaver Hundred. Pics in the Optimo thread, Jim
He also says that he will restore hats that are worth restoring, not only mine..

If you send it to Optimo, make sure you specify that the sweatband stays with the hat. Graham has been known to yank the original sweatband out...
