Entirely possible. Disney hats was around long before there was a Disney Studios. Though sometimes money seems to trump precedent when it comes to trademark suits. This particular hat has a Mr Disney liner. But the sweat says Disney hats. Mostly seems like a 1950s hat. I also have a Disney double Eagle hat that looks and feels 1960s that is just labeled Disney Hats. No mention of Mr on that one.

I had to go check both my Disneys. The "Alpenhute" velour made by Anton Peschel of Dinkelsbühl Germany says Imported for Disney Hats with the fancy D liner, no Mr. on sweat or liner. If memory serves, Steve said it was mid 50's
The "Handover" is a back-bow underwelt, so I'm guessing late 50's. No Mr on the sweat, or on the well-dressed guy liner.
So if there is rhyme or reason to it, your guess is as good as mine...
*Edit: Upon closer inspection, the Handover does have the Mr. on the liner. My bad eyes...

You guys just don’t get it. This is how hats were made in 1893. Holstein skim felt was quite the thing. It’s not even $1,600 so it’s a bargain too!
I offered to steer the seller to some better information, but she assured me her “Google research” was spot-on and I didn’t know what I was talking about. In the distance I could hear my dad’s voice and some advice about arguing with fools.
I got a good laugh out of it anyway.
