More than 3000 for a jacket it makes no more sense for me.

i would love to own a La Brea but i guess i will have to order one someday from Field Leathers until they still have some decent prices… but even he is raising the prices quite a lot

At these prices I expect something on a different level...

Though, to be fair, some of the Freewheelers pattern fit better than others, they have quite the variation in their offereing.

I do not think I will buy another Freewheeler beyond my little wing. My needs to Leathertogs and Peter's Taylor style jackets were met by JL and LW.

Yeah definitely not implying their pattern work is inherently bad, just that I have no shortage of friends who’ve sausaged themselves into RMC and FW that clearly don’t fit but they don’t like to think about it after spending $3000 lol.

Oh, yes. We have seen many people trying to convince themselves that jackets fit them when they don't.... I have to admit I was doggedly trying to get a decent fit out of the RMC J100 in their shibuya shop maybe 5 years ago.... with no success.

Same with the centinela model from freewheelers.

I was never able to get a decent fit out of any RMC, but with Freewheelers, I got a decent fit out of the little wing and a better fit out of the sunset later. I only ever bought the Little Wing because it was so unique.

That is unreal!
I was at Lost and Found on Ossington About 3 weeks ago. They had a 44 and a 46 … luckily I look ridiculous in this style of jacket  or I’d be a bit lighter in the wallet as they were beautiful and with the price increase coming there’s the FOMO factor lol

RMC Buco J24s have been £2350 / about $3000 USD (£2550/$3250 for the J24L!) in the UK for at least 4/5 years, Ill be interested to see how far they think they can push the pricing over here considering they are already massively taking the piss.

Just looked at the website:

J24 is now EUR 3.250,-
J100 is EUR 2.500,-

Wow! That´s not something I am prepared to invest any more...

So, the new stock San Mateo and Mulholland are up for sale on japanese websites for 440 000 - 475 000 yen. Suppose there goes my dream of getting the Mulholland. Quite a hefty price hike from 250 000 - 275 000, but it seems Speedway is already sold out so...

Edit: Come to think of it, yen is about 25 % cheaper than 5 years ago and about 37,5 % price hike considering inflation is not that out of line. Maybe there is hope yet!
Where do you see them coming up for sale?

25,000 yen more is like $150… that’s a reasonable increase. Yen is super weak at the moment so I’d just go the proxy route whenever possible.

As far as I understand the japanese price charged to resellers abroad is close to the price consumers pay so they are bound to cost more when buying outside of Japan. They basically don’t give a flying **** of the non Japanese market. Chances are they are going to sell out all stock even if they didn’t export. Not talking about RMC specifically which has got a largish footprint also abroad but a brand like freewheelers definitely would be fine with 0 foreign sales.

Real Moon Japan had two Mulholland jackets in stock, in new size 40 and one 42. Overpriced (compared to before) at ¥400,000 each (USD $2,700). Sold out a day after they announced it on Instagram.

In 2012, Mulholland size 42 was ¥186,900 (USD $1,300). What has changed? I need some of that Mulholland magic on all the crap I have piled up in the garage...
