Another up do brushed back.
My pomp. I rarely wear this, Im not that sassy.
And the two side flower do.
Thats enough.

Some fab hair ladies....I am waiting for a portable hood hairdryer to arrive that I bought off ebay. I had one of the type that attach onto your normal dryer but it was rubbish....

I finally found the answer to the wave clamp question thanks to RetroMom's comment in the thread "help with finger waves". I can tell you it's not always easy to find the precise answer as a new comer: the "wave clamp" search lead to many threads, I had to look through all of them first. So I hope you don't think I'm a pain already.
However, I'd still like to find the link mentioned above that you raved about (posted by the red-bobbed australian girl). Btw, the pomp was my fav LadyDay.

dollydaydream- i always forget where i post too, so i tend to be on here for hours rather than the intended 10 minutes!
lady day- you flowers are superb. i am somewhat of a hair flower collecter to- my friends get confused if i go out without one!
i have to say though i walked through a department store the other day and found some really pretty ones with flowers and colours i'd never seen before and was about to take them to the till when i realised they were £30 ($56). imagine my shock! compared to the few pounds i spend making my own it's ridiculous! i love your flower box too! i need to find one big enough but am havin no luck other than cardboard ones.
on a completeley different note, i have two things i need help with...
i bought some hot sticks which arrived today- and i'm wondering if the heat spot is working. it says "fast heating" in the instructions but no time frame. i left them on for half an hour and the spot never went black- it just stayed red. wondering if they're not working properly or whether i just didn't leave them on for long enough... how long do they usually take?
the other query is about wave clamps. my new ones arrived today but they're properly vinatage and look like they have burnt on setting lotion on a few of them. what is the best way to get rid of it? my mom said a bit of white vinegar would do the trick but i don't want to break the springs in them cos they're quite old. ideas?

Then I unrolled each one, brushed it out, and rolled it back up neatly, and slid a hair grip in to the bottom of each roll, fastening it to my scalp. I probably also put one in the same position but starting at the back of the roll and pushing it towards my face. Hmm, I'm not sure how long the front of my hair was at that point. Definitely beyond my chin. Maybe down to my collar bone? I think small front rolls like that are actually easier with shorter hair because they don't end up so thick and bulky from all the layers of hair. Mine is chin-length at the front now, and I can still do little rolls.

Yes that blonde is really severe but I think she carries it rather well.
I found more curlers on sale today. They are Conair Cushion Curlers. They look like Velcro curlers but are made of rubber, come with clips and says you can sleep in them. Anyone try them? They were on clearance so I HAD to get them. DH just said, 'more curlers? they are taking over'.

I haven't done anything with my hair for 2 months (hangs head in shame) but its due to personal reasons..so thats a good enough excuse, I'm determined once the UK weather decides to settle that the curling will start again

Do you use conditioner?
One more question if I may. I attended a 40's hairstyling course and was told NOT to use any conditioner before setting my hair. The rules were:
Wash hair with shampoo only
Set dry hair with setting lotion (using carmen curlers, hot rollers)
I guess this is to get the right dry and light hair quality that will hold a curl. So now I only use conditioner when I'm not going to set my hair. (My hair is thick, wavy and shoulder length.) What do you ladies do? Please let me know!

Five to ten minutes is usually sufficient time to reach the scorching temperatures for which Hot Sticks are famous.
