My first vintage (I think?) hat!

It's a great looking hat. I would have jumped on it too.

    Dobbs Panamas...

I can't say how old they are, or where exactly they were woven, but they look nice to me. When I shop for Panamas on ebay (and I haven't won one yet) if I can clearly see the weave in a picture like that I don't bid. I think I would be very happy with either of those.

Borsalino Dating: Just the Facts, Ma'am

I found this liner on ebay today. I have no idea how old it is, but thought I would submit it for comments/reference. This hat had a brown sweatband with "Original House" and white cloth size tag with blue box and 7 1/8.

    Buying a guy a lid

This idea just came to me. Buy a cheap ballcap, take it to an embroidery place and have an IOU stitched on it. Then hecan take his time finding the right hat.

    Submitted for your approval

I can't comment on the age of the hats, but they do look nice. On a wild guess I would say they are old enough to be considered vintage.

Pile, Ecuador. The finest paja toquilla sombreros in the world.

I see a lot of comments about Brent Black and this guy in Santa Fe selling expensive hats. I have no idea who the guy in Santa Fe is, but I've spent a lot of time reading Brent Black's website. I also own a Brent Black hat. We have exchanged a few emails, and we spoke on the phone a few...

Thank you for the pictures. I look forward to any others you may post. Do you sell any hats made my the young lady? Maybe I can't afford one now, but I think it would be great to support the next generation.

    NOS Borsalino

I poked a couple of dents into it. It didn't require any steam or water, and they will easily pop back out for an open crown. The first is just a center crease, and the second is an attempt at a C crown (I think). There will be no pics of it on my head until after it is stretched...

    Vintage fedora...oh yeah?

100% wool hats mostly in the $30 to $40 range. They seem to market more towards the African American demographic.

    Alabama hatter?

I was talking to one of my aunts today when the conversion turned to hats. She liked my Panama, and that reminded her of a show she saw on Alabama Public Television about an old black man who made mens and womens hats. She couldn't remember the details, but thinks he was from AL. Does...

    NOS Borsalino

Last month havershaw was telling us about some Borsalinos in the Buy It Now section of ebay. You send the money to Washington state, and the hat shows up from Europe. There were three still listed, but too expensive and a size too small. A week later they showed up as auctions with $9.99...
