I think part of the problem here is that he is worried about what other people think about his hat instead of what he thinks. Can't do that, no, no, no, won't work!!! Same reason some folks don't wear a hat, they're to self-conscious, if you like it wear it and don't worry about what other...
Depending on what one is collecting it can certainly be an investment. Granted most collections, boots, hats, bikes, etc. probably won't appreciate very much if at all. Other things like automobiles, firearms, art, may prove to be better than money in the bank. When I'm looking at used hats, I'm...
I won't leave my hat anywhere that I can't keep an eye on it. Like on a hat rack just inside the door of a restaurant, it might not be there when I leave.
When in Rome etc. During our national anthem, of course in a church, any church, when paying respects to a deceased, a nice restaurant, actually I guess there are a fair number of places I would remove my hat.
New question. Is there a way to tell a fur felt from a wool felt or a blend for that matter? When there are no markings to identify the felt used and the hat feels very nice how can we tell what it is? I suppose if you got the hat really wet and it lost its shape you could assume it was wool...
Beautiful hat, I would probably wear it Aussie style, brim down. I like the pinch, actually that last picture is pretty sharp. Nice hat, I may need to get myself one! I believe that hat can be ordered open crown, I might leave it open crown.
Does anyone know of a simple way to tell if a hat is fur or wool felt? I mean when there are no markings, and the hat feels good. Dobbs for instance has made their 5th Ave with wool and fur and I have a few that don't say anything. I have handled hats that really felt good that were wool felt...
A lot of companies produce or have produced an open road style hat, but the term actually refers to a Stetson correct? And, if a Stetson open road has been re-bashed to a different style it would no longer be an open road, correct? It seems to me that the term refers to a particular style...
My local hat shop, Levine, has some very nice wool felt hats that are priced comparable to fur felt. You would be very hard pressed to tell the difference.
Have your lawyer draw up a release form and give it to him. Wild hog is actually pretty good eating. The damn things can get pretty big, 5 or 6 hundred pounds and can be dangerous. A true wild hog, Javelina, are damn dangerous but that's probably not what you're talking about.
I have always cleaned and inspected a used hat. Steamed and shaped several also but that's it, never had a problem. I don't think it will hurt anything, probably not a bad idea I just don't think it's necessary and I don't have room in the freezer anyway. Besides that, I don't think my wife...
I'm a fan of Stratton hats, I have a few and intend to order a custom from them. Their main business is uniform hats that are exposed to weather everyday so being durable is very important to them. They own the felt company in Tn. that supply's fur felt to a lot of manufactures, needless to say...
It occurs to me that I have a few hats that I'm not really sure about the felt, it doesn't say in the hat what it is. A Mallory and a couple Dobbs 5th Ave.s , I assumed they were fur felt but I don't know that. Dobbs has produced some 5th Ave,s that are wool. The Mallory, who knows? They feel...
