I am probably going to need one of those. A very nice-looking cap and I'm betting really warm! I don't have a Sterkowski with a quilt lining like that.

    Western, anyone?

Politics, taxes, earthquakes, fires, and the price of real-estate, did I mention mud slides. I loved Ca. at one time, several years ago, but it has changed dramatically in the last 20 years. The central valley and northern Ca. are about the only parts left that I would consider now. Actually...

Considering a Stetson Open Road, what pairs well with it?

Don't pay any attention to anyone that says you should own a horse to wear a western style hat or any other western style clothing. An open road [Stetson] can be worn with anything, it'll dress up jeans or soften a sport coat. You can certainly turn down the brim in front, I always do. Akubra...

What Cap Are You Wearing Today?

Sterkowski, produces good quality caps at a reasonable price. I have 5 and I'm sure I'll have more. Actually, I'm waiting for their Deer-slayer cap to be back in stock now. Can't beat the Harris Tweed they use.

Ask a question, get an answer

Well not only do folks have different taste that changes with time. I'm happy with some of Stetsons Royal Deluxe hats and they are usually between 2 and 2 fifty, is it possible to order a custom hat for that? My taste in felt may not be as refined as some guys and maybe that's not a bad thing. I...

When I clean a used hat, I start with packing tape, I wrap it around my hand sticky side exposed and pat the hat down. You will need to change the tape a few times probably. You will be surprised how well that works. then I will go with a hat sponge and cleaning powder, you can order that, and a...

    Western, anyone?

Those cowboy shootouts are pretty serious business and some of the competitors are damn good. Better than the real gunslingers of old ever were. I'm not sure that kind of thing would be allowed in the United Kingdom, I know they have very strict gun control laws.

Ask a question, get an answer

I have in the past purchased felt hats that needed a different ribbon. That's easy enough except when I remove the old ribbon the felt under it is like new, no fading at all and the rest of the hat is a little faded. Has anyone been able to restore the felt that is faded or even die it? I'm...
