What will the hat be worn for? Fun, outside work, dress-casual, etc. are likely applications for your hat and might make a difference as to your choice. I'm not familiar with the Jaxon except as a "fun-n-fashion" line. But if you expect it to be tough and come back from a lickin' the Akubra...- Blackhorse

RM Williams Aussie Hat Saver
I remember seeing this when I ordered a couple of my Akubras. As the proud driver of a new F-150 Super Crew it would be a right handy thing. I guess it attaches to one of the visors? Or, I guess you could just screw it to the inside of the roof (lol). But, for $56 US I think I'd go to work...- Blackhorse

Customizing my Fawcett Custom
Well, at last, it worked. In real life the felt and ribbon are darker, by several shades...and the little ruby insert is also darker...not RED like this, not cranberry dark, but maybe in between...like RUBY RED. Also, it's "ribbed" like the regular ribbon...it's just an unfocused photo that...- Blackhorse

I did it! I put Art's signature touch to my Fawcett custom. A fine DIY project. I received it around Christmas time and it's dark charcoal with a band that matches pretty closely. I always regretted not getting the signature thing he does with the bows on his bands...the addition of a color...- Blackhorse

Those with a modern Stetson and modern Akubra - sizing help/comparison?
OK - I'll toss in a ringer. I always shop for a 61 in an Akubra...bought two on evilBay a few months back of the same model (the Bushman...a sort of Federation on steroids). Both 61's fit differently, maybe different periods of manufacture? Thew one I kept fits me better than ANY other Akubra...- Blackhorse

Yeah, I guess I like McCallans or Dalwhinnie better than the Glens...so I'm there anyway. The thing on Stetson's is just that I haven't found one I thought looked good (but then, what would) on me.
