Yes, well a man sporting another nearly new WOA would know that kind of thing. BTW - AF referred me to photos of yours to explain some kind of hatty thing I was a little daft in comprehending. I think it was the color, or something like that. I was extremely impressed with your design and...
It sounds like you're well on your way to an excellent design that compliment's your style well. One personal suggestion: (and this is just "me") I believe that the Mojave felt, being so light and yet "rich" in it's color...is well enhanced by the dual color bow treatment that Art does. The...
Thanks all of you for your kind words, we are indeed a kind and mutually supportive society. I must share that in my first hat (the avatar) with AF I stumbled around in terms of design and dimensions but thanks to Art there was a solid and respectable outcome. And though I love it, what came...
OK - here's the deal. For my newest hat I really wanted to have just one more Work of Art...and again went through the website and the various galleries, etc. So, as it happens, I fell deeply madly & truly for the Jazzman. I know I'm not the only one of us with that affliction. Others have...
Mustard!!! Don't let's be silly!
And on a lighter note...yeah, absolutely...that's really a great one. I think Art might admit that the bow treatment HAS become his signature treatment.
So - just how close to the silver mist is the insert color? And BTW...the Midnight Blue is really a...
What will the hat be worn for? Fun, outside work, dress-casual, etc. are likely applications for your hat and might make a difference as to your choice. I'm not familiar with the Jaxon except as a "fun-n-fashion" line. But if you expect it to be tough and come back from a lickin' the Akubra...
Yeah, b-b-b-b-b-bad to the bone!
OK - you all shoulda guessed it...it's a work of Art. I named it the "Dark City". Courtesy of the talent of Mr. Fawcett.
Oh! And thanks for all the nice comments. Very kind, one and all.
I remember seeing this when I ordered a couple of my Akubras. As the proud driver of a new F-150 Super Crew it would be a right handy thing. I guess it attaches to one of the visors? Or, I guess you could just screw it to the inside of the roof (lol). But, for $56 US I think I'd go to work...
Yessir! That one is a beauty. Yer a lucky guy!
Hey, ideaguy...and other "Jazzman" aficionados...I've got a slight derivative Jazzman comin' off the bench even as I write this. Some subtle differences, so yer gonna find it interesting, I'm bettin'. I should be able to show some snaps in...
Well, at last, it worked.
In real life the felt and ribbon are darker, by several shades...and the little ruby insert is also darker...not RED like this, not cranberry dark, but maybe in between...like RUBY RED. Also, it's "ribbed" like the regular ribbon...it's just an unfocused photo that...
I did it! I put Art's signature touch to my Fawcett custom. A fine DIY project. I received it around Christmas time and it's dark charcoal with a band that matches pretty closely. I always regretted not getting the signature thing he does with the bows on his bands...the addition of a color...
OK - I'll toss in a ringer. I always shop for a 61 in an Akubra...bought two on evilBay a few months back of the same model (the Bushman...a sort of Federation on steroids). Both 61's fit differently, maybe different periods of manufacture? Thew one I kept fits me better than ANY other Akubra...
Yeah, I guess I like McCallans or Dalwhinnie better than the Glens...so I'm there anyway. The thing on Stetson's is just that I haven't found one I thought looked good (but then, what would) on me. Once, I just happened on a Biltmore that had a really straight contour to the body of the hat...
Well Chanfan, it WAS a thread about Fawcett's...and I still haven't tried on a Stetson that I really liked all that much. Just a matter of chance I guess.
I like your avatar by the way. Wm.P. is a real favorite of mine.
