How do you interview an artist?

as an artist As an artist myself, hmm, lets see, I can tell when you're asking sincere questions or just looking for filler information. Ask the artist what they think of world in terms of "do you feel that anyone gives a damn about what you paint"; alot of us feel abandoned, depending on our...

    classic heritage. . .

As with most people my age (40) you'd assume I had hippie parents, but rather, my parents were born during the 20s. My mom was 42 when she had me and dad was 3 years younger. They remember so much from growing up then, but then don't remember what they did yesterday. One thing I recall...

    Men's belts

So I'm watching the movie 'Shall We Dance' (1937) and during a dance scene ( in the boiler room of the ship) I notice Fred Astaire has his belt bucle done up to the left side; no suspenders either. Was this a common look for guys then or just an attempted fad/style for him ? Just curious. . .

    Speaking of dancing . . .

. . . or not, is there no hope for one's spouse to learn to like dancing ?? I love dancing, but my spouse says he hates it. It has something to do with having people looking at him, maybe a form of stage fright. (??) I don't know. I've expressed to him that I'll am taking lessons and I'll go...

opinions from the guys. . .

I consider myself very professional and have no problem with measuring in whatever areas. I've had to make reenactment clothing before and needed to do proper measurements. Sounds like there are quite a few women who take on those kinds of projects. Thanks again for the input. :)

opinions from the guys. . .

Hey Fellas, was needing your opinions on tailoring suits. I won't take any answer the wrong way, so here goes. Do you feel that ony men can make a proper suit for men since they have the first hand experience by just wearing the garments ? This gives them an edge, I believe. I would love to...

What do you do for Living?

I work for a federal contractor to the army. I draw maps and use GIS programs. Consequently to work there you need secret clearance. I've been there at just over 2 years. Very interesting work, but I aspire to do something else.

    Long hair on men?

I personally like long hair on men if it suits their face and overall appearance, same as I might prefer short on another guy. It depends on individual. Keep up the good maintenance AdmiralTofu; looking great.;)

    Soap making?

a few times . . . :) I have made soap on occassion, just out of curiosity. It can get very techinical with the lye to fat/oil ratios (these are amounts you can look up on the net) I used corn oil and lye. Remember, lye is very caustic when the water is added; wear protective clothing if you...

long hard cold I grew up in Niagara Falls. During the blizzard of '77 we received temperatures (windchill) of -40F To freeze this amount of water would require a sustained period of artic cold air, for at least 2 to 3 weeks. ~Becky~
