    For those with Kangaroo boots..

I'm not sure that that is correct, as it seems a bit too simple given the range and diversity of mammals. The idea that Kangaroo skin does not have pores is only mentioned on what site that sells motorcycle jackets, and I'm not sure how reputable it is. Trying to research it, it seem kangaroo...

    For those with Kangaroo boots..

Could anyone please clarify how they do in summer? The only thing stopping me from purchasing a pair of Kangaroo Comfort Craftsman from RM Williams is that I am worries that the boots may be too warn to wear during summer, as kangaroo skin has no pores so the boots will not be breathable...

    Kangaroo From Aero

Has anyone had the chance to wear or see a kangaroo leather jacket yet? Everything I read mentions how it is lighter than goat, and yet more durable. Yet people are also saying it is close to horsehide and takes forever to break in. Which is it? Is it lighter than goat yet still takes...

Differences between RM Williams and Frye boots?

Thanks tropicalbob. The only Frye's boot I like is the James Chelsea and I think I like the chisel styles from RM Williams better. I think I'm going to go with the Kangaroo comfort craftsman, as it seems durable and light. Now I just have to see how kangaroo leather fares in summer.

Differences between RM Williams and Frye boots?

Thanks, I was leaning towards RM Williams because I found more people speaking favorably of them. I have a follow up question, which I don't want to make a follow up posts for, but would you have any idea about which style is the most versatile for flowing between casual and formal? They have...

    Help with choosing new pants

Hello, I travel about 80% of the year, and can be in different weather and environments pretty frequently. Aside from wanting to look better, I'm also trying to consolidate my outfits so I have less to lug around with me. I'm trying to find a versatile type of pants that will be fine in...

Is British style not what it was (or maybe never was in the 1st place)?

Thanks Patrick. You may be right RE the collar, as I have little experience wearing ties as I have had few occasions where it has been necessary. When I have worn one, I have found it might uncomfortable around the collar. Perhaps I need to give it another try. My point was more about a...

Differences between RM Williams and Frye boots?

I'm looking at investing in a new Chelsea boot soon, and have heard that RM Williams and Frye boots are among the highest quality. I've seen people say that they are also very different boots without saying how. Would someone be able to clarify what the differences are? My goals are...

Is British style not what it was (or maybe never was in the 1st place)?

mattface, I agree with you completely on ties, and appreciate that you took care to articulate your opinions so. I am still in the process of learning how to dress well, and I enjoy it a lot. The tie is something I have had trouble understanding, and have been glad to see it as less necessary...

    Upgrading from Timberland chelsea boots

Last year I purchased my first pair of Chelsea boots, and while very happy with them, I would like to upgrade to something more stylish and of a better quality. I have been looking at boots from RM Williams, Red Wings and Frye, as it seems these brands are considered to be among the highest...

Gustin Jeans Selvage Denim made in SF

I'm selling a medium black canvas trucker coat if anyone is interested. Never worn, only tried on briefly and realized I hated the style (too short), despite being the correct size.

Black goatskin half-belt by Johnson Leathers

It's certainly not over-sized, which isn't at all the same thing as loose. Photos may not give an accurate representation, but when wearing with just a t-shirt it doesn't "feel" too lose, and when worn with a sweater fits perfectly without being too snug. Fit was worked out perfectly with Alan...

Black goatskin half-belt by Johnson Leathers

The jacket is a bit looser as I'm just wearing a t-shirt, but I worked this out with Alan. a size 40 is far too tight for me, as where a 42 was slightly too big, so this is a 42 taken in at the sides about an inch. The shoulders were left so that in colder weather I can wear a sweater or...

Black goatskin half-belt by Johnson Leathers

Just wanted to post some more pics after getting it back. I couldn't be happier...this is THE jacket I wanted. Literally every detail is now perfect. Alan is a pleasure to work with....I can not recommend him highly enough. Anyway, changes made were: - Replace calfskin pockets with cloth, as...

Feet Up! The Work Boot Thread

Thanks casechopper, I think I'll stick with the Timberlands for now. They are super comfortable, didn't even need to break them in, no blisters. Waterproof and look pretty nice. Only reason I would choose the Redwings would be because they are maybe higher quality, although I'm not sure about...

Feet Up! The Work Boot Thread

Huh, thanks. They have a piar on there now for $207, I just don't know that it's worth it. Not really sure why people would lok down on Timberland, and I like the fact the ones I have are waterproof. It's a minor thing to some, but I like not having to worry about avoiding puddles in rainy...

Smart casual boots with side zip recommendations

You're right, I don't have much love for vintage stuff. However TFL seems to have a wide array of members, and certainly doesn't seem to be limited to vintage wares. In any event, I am now getting a pair of chelsea boots as a good sidezipper booter seems very hard to find. Just trying to decide...
