Been scouring the net looking for leads as to what this is. This patch is huge, about 6 inches in diameter and has a sewn red felt backing. I purchased it a little while ago not knowing if it was original or not. I assumed it wasn't so I paid accordingly. Any help would be appreciated.
Gents, this is something not seen everyday. It's an original small label A-2 Aero W535-ac-16160 Contract. This is a pre-war Aero which is almost impossible to find. Good luck!!!
Here's the eBay link.......;)...
Just bought this for an everyday wearer now that I finally have realized that the A-2 is not the best looking vintage jacket to be wearing. I now have decided to sell ALL my vintage A-2s and only pick up what I will wear. If this fits well (and I think it will) it will be something that I...
Here's a deal I would like to strike.
I want to trade an original HH Dubow late model contract tagged size 36 but fits me well as a 38. No smells, best HH I have seen, rough and grainy. ELC replaced the knits. Everything else is 100% original. I am looking for a similar size Aero...
I just pulled this out of storage today, I sure missed it. Weather is getting a bit cooler here so I thought I'd have a look at what I can wear this year. This is a beautiful Original Rough Wear W535-AC-18091 Contract. It belonged to a fighter pilot of the 57th FS/54th FG. This patch was the...
Just so you folks can see, you don't need to spend an exorbitant amount of money to get a nice A-2. I managed to pick this one up which was badly listed for about $200 including shipping! Complete with an original Talon Zip. Looks like it was number 86 in the production line. It appears the...
Guys and gals, I just picked up this beautiful pre-war Aero 16160 Contract. These are fairly rare jackets in the sense that they rarely show up for sale. This one is in good condition, the horsehide is very nice and has no flaws, original waistband in very good condition about 90% with only a...
There are various links here on the WWII Thread that are in desperate need of some attention. The ones I'm referring to are "Members in Uniform" and the "Flight Jacket Gallery". These links haven't worked in a coon's age and should be deleted of re-linked. Thanks bartenders.;) I know you guys...
Selling my Capeskin Eastman Leather A-1. This is the new model, size 38, broken in for about 1 year. Excellent condition, no problems. Questions just ask. Will go on eBay later this week with a BIN higher than offered here. $400 plus actual shipping. Second pic is when it was new, first pic is...
Riddle me this, riddle me that....Let me preface this post by saying I have all the respect in the world for John Chapman and his venture in the repro jacket field. With this said I would like for you gents to chime in and tell me what has happened to the rest of the jacket manufactures? Isn't...
Sometimes you just have to look past the crummy pictures on eBay and have a bit of imagination and hope for the best. In this case I lucked out, I knew the jacket was in great shape, but little did I know when I got it the horsehide was about as thick as a Lost Worlds, very nice and grainy but...
I just put this on eBay, really nice, but I am a smallish 38 and this is a very generous 40. ELC has done some work on it and it looks great. Questions, please ask.

I was searching on You Tube for some cool flight jacket videos and I came across a few that were made by Gibson and Barnes, I thought they were pretty nice. Not a lot of information for those who already have a good knowledge of flight jackets, but pretty informative nonetheless. They have many...
