Just a question about Stetson X ratings I have an OR which is marked 'Stetson 25' but has no X's on the sweatband. I see some/most marked 3x and they don't feel all that great...at least compared to my 25....which is buttery soft. What X rating would a 25 be equal to.... How much better... -
Vintage 3x Open Road 7 1/8
This one I just bought off ebay but just does not fit me right. I think I need a long oval. Anyway, it is size 7 1/8, has the tag, says Open Road on the band. All in very nice condition....3x silver belly. Comes in original Stetson box. I paid $41 plus shipping. Will sell for the same...- Dogface

Just lurking this thread today. Deputy: I had heard that a fair number of Open Roads don't actually SAY 'Open Road' on the sweat band. So...we would not be 'allowed' to post on your OR Guild ? :rolleyes: & lol -

A new, to me Open Road. I'm told it's circa 1970 but you guys might well have a better idea. It doesn't say Open Road on it anywhere but I have no doubt. It is a Stetson 25 and is buttery soft. Dunno when or if they stopped making them with the 'wind cord'. Almost too nice to wear and looks... -

I've visited their online store and they seem to have some pretty nice quality brands at decent prices. They also have their own store brand, but question is, who makes them and what's the quality like ? I have taken a liking to their so called Westside which is a fawn version of the OR or so... -

Thanks for the kind words. This one is not bound and I had come to believe that OR's were always bound. Could be something similar to an OR I guess. It was much a much lighter more SB color before...could use a good cleaning.
